The name was actually rejected by the Jockey Club because there's already a horse with that name (another War Front, though, this one a 2009 gelding out of Lacy Lady).

The only reason it was rejected is because War General was used for a War Front foal in the past. I feel like this is a newer rule. I don't pay attention to Naming rules but don't remember reading it before.
Also they definitely added another rule at some point where horses can not be named after a horse in their first 5 generations. This was after the Izarra--Arlucea--Bayakoa--Arlucea--Izarra thing I guarantee.
The 2 newer (cause no idea when they added them) naming rules:
16. Names of horses previously recorded in The American Stud Book by the same sire or out of the same dam as the foal for which the attempt is made.
17. Names of horses appearing within the first five generations of the pedigree of the foal for which the attempt is made.
