On Oct 10, 2014 FREE AS A BIRD won the Listed Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes at Keeneland. This was her fifth black type stakes race in a row.

ROCKETRY's chief rival in 2019, Marconi (by Tapit) has retired to Stud duty in Argentina. Marconi finished ahead of Rocketry 4x in 2019. Twice Marconi was 1st and Rocketry 2nd. Another time Marconi was 1st and Rocketry 3rd. All in stakes races. Marconi is a half brother to Mucho Macho Man.

They were asked that question and they replied it's up to his trainer, vet, and the condition book. I guess it's not easy to find long distance dirt races for him.

Yay, some nice races to look forward to. I was just looking at the upcoming entries and it looked pretty thin. This will spice things up! I do hope that GLG can live up to his early promise. He seemed like a man among boys last summer at Saratoga. Hard Spuns usually get better with age, though there have been some notable exceptions (Timeline, for instance), so I was hoping for that with him.

Hard Spun's 3 year old daughter Shes So Special won the first race back at Santa Anita after the CoVid-19 closure. She's So Special is out of Born Special, by Pulpit.

And she beat a field of colts and geldings. She was the only filly in the race.

SPINOFF and GREEN LIGHT GO each finished second in their respective stakes races. Both fought hard to the wire. SPINOFF fared better in the slop than he did in the Kentucky Derby last year. Only beaten a head at the end.

Hopefully they both come back even better in their next races.

Both ATTACHMENT RATE and NECKER ISLAND are nominated to the G3 Matt Winn Stakes at Churchill on May 23. If they go, they will run into Maxfield, who's nomination to that race has been much-hyped recently.

Attachment Rate and Necker Island both entered today into the Matt Winn Stakes on Saturday at Churchill. A Thread of Blue entered in an AOC, race #5, same day at Churchill and has a new trainer, John Servis.
