I like the Cozzene and Woodman strains in the mare. Will be interesting to see how it does with CC. He was bred to quite a few More Than Ready mares in the States for the same nod to Woodman and his second dam, Intriguing, I would guess. Although I think they were also using the 1-x female family as well in those cases. Cozzene is interesting too as his 4th dam Portage mixed pretty well with Swaps to get Change Water, the dam of Fall Aspen.

That's just a typical figure-8 noseband with a small sheepskin pad where the straps cross over?

Yeah, it's just a figure 8 noseband. We use them on most of our jumpers or when schooling our hunters at home. Helps to keep them from crossing their jaw instead of accepting the bit and staying supple. Or if they gape their mouth wide open instead of accepting the bit.

Never seen it used in a breeding capacity, but maybe just gives the handler a little more control? Or makes it harder for the stallion to bite the mare (if they don't use the leather pad that goes on the mare's withers, I forget the actual name of it)
