She was bred on June 9. I'm pretty sure it was to Candy Ride, but Lane's End doesn't have their stallions' reports in yet.

Thanks- that is a pretty late breeding. Wonder if she didn’t catch earlier? Or done on purpose to have the foal born during warmer weather?

Zenyatta tends to come in season later (I'm pretty sure), although I'm sure any of the above reasons could also be a factor.

I was at Lane's End in April and our tour guide said that she had been bred to Candy Ride. If she was bred again on June 9th, she must have lost that one. Poor girl has not had a lot of luck being a mama.

More likely than having "lost" a foal is that she simply didn't get in foal when she was previously bred.

Just saw it confirmed on facebook. Zenyatta was bred to Candy Ride and she's expecting a filly. Fingers crossed that everything goes well!

aww, I didnt even notice that, no matter what kind of runner she turns out to be I hope she stays safe and sound, maybe Zens talent will show up in the next generation if not in this one.

Checked her Facebook page to see if any news, nothing on foaling but they had put up a post for her birthday - Lanes End did a virtual tour that was pretty cool, started in the stallion barn, Z makes her entrance at about the 25.00 mark.
