I was just on Stonestreet’s Broodmare website and no longer see Potesta. Anyone know where she is or what happened to her?

Thanks.

Nothing on Jockey Club - no export pending or death report.
She is still at Stonestreet. I asked them on her and she is in foal to GM and due at end of month

Thank you for the info on Potesta. I have a soft spot for her.

Talking about mares being sold to Korea, or other overseas locations only for their remaining US progeny to become successful (i.e. Lil Indy)...

Serengeti Empress's dam Havisham was sold in-foal with a full-sibling to South Korea in 2016.

Full-sibling is a sister named Proudly. She has since produced a 2018 filly by Tiz Wonderful and a 2019 colt by Colonel John.

Yeah it happens, its just like when a stallion is sold overseas his progeny somehow become better. Common Hope was sold to Turkey but she came back when Shared Belief because big time. In the mid-90s, Helice's only foal before being sold to Saudi Arabia was Prix de'l Arc de Triomphe winner Helissio.

I think its a little early, she didn't foal until March 21st in 2019. I would imagine she would foal sometime in April at the earliest.

I don't know if this is the right place for this because it doesn't talk about her broodmare career at all but she did have foals.
Champion Heartlight No. One and her lifelong colic problems.

I always heard giving banamine to pregnant horses a lot wasn't good because it can cause kidney damage and problems for the fetus. Do you think it was okay because it was spaced out, like a week between treatments? She produced 9 live foals, 7 which lived to be named, she had a weanling and yearling that died. She only missed 4 years. Pretty crazy considering she had a pelvic fracture that compromised her and was colicing and receiving banamine every week.

Midnight Lucky is expecting a foal by Curlin this year.

Lady Tak foaled a colt by Maclean's Music this year in Kentucky.

Idk how I even came across this tonight. It looks up to date though fan made for sure but its pretty cool, it has a list of Coolmores pensioned mares and also all their broodmares in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. I don't know how to find the pensioned mare list on the site so I included a link here.

This is going to be an awesome time-killer—thanks!

Coolmore is certainly not holding back on sending its best mares to Justify.

Yeah is it just me or are they giving more mares to Justify than they did to Pharoah?

It it because Scat Daddy?

Was Stellar Wind actually bred last year or no?

Maria's Mon posted that she was booked to Galileo in the 2019 matings thread but the Breeders Cup site doesn't bring up anything for her for a 2020 foal.

The Breeders Cup site doesn't pull European breedings, so you have to wait until late in the foaling year for foals to start showing up on that site. She has a colt last year on April 17th so that would be the soonest I would look for a foal out of her and that would only be if they immediately bred her back. I would say mid May.

Edit: I edited this post like 20 times, cause I was like oh I'm sure I saw her foal but it was last years. ;)

Claiborne livestreamed Dell Hancock's retiree barn on Instagram today, and Dell was on the stream.

Liable was shown and so was Mila, who is mostly there because she is Liable's best friend. Mila has an "eye ulcer" but is otherwise OK.

Barbara Livingston @DRFLivingston

The birthday party for SERENA'S SONG, "the Queen of @DenaliStud," was a heartwarming affair (viewable on their FB page).

In partnership with Horse Country, they celebrated this great race- and broodmare in fine style! And, so deservedly, they kept the peppermints coming. ...

She looks fantastic, no where near her real age. I think it was probably the 95 Breeders Cup telecast, they were talking to Lukas about Serena's Song before the Distaff, and though she had a tough attitude, if she heard a peppermint wrapper, it was complete change in demeanor. Lukas said something like she would follow him anywhere for a peppermint and you didn't even need a lead on her if you had one.
