Thanks for digging up all of these photos of Ambiguity and her immediate family, everyone. I just assumed she was a genetic anomaly but it's been quite incredible to see all the white and blue eyes on the dam, the half-sister, offspring, etc. :)

There was a NYRA runner with a big blaze and one blue eye....I wonder if she had Ambiguity in her pedigree...but I can't recall her name except maybe it had 'Blue' in it.

Are you thinking of Bowie? If so then I do not believe so.

Her name wasn't Bowie. I'd have remembered that.

PS: Wait...I think I found her: Blue Destiny. Having some trouble with the pedigree web site though....

https://www.pedigreequery.com/blue+destiny There is a picture of her there and yes she is a descendant of Ambiguity. It says her dam had a large blaze, blue eyes and 4 high socks. Interesting her granddam is named Grandma's Double (her granddam is Ambiguity).

LOL at the comment from someone who said gray is the new bay. :D Wonder what kind of soil they have in the round pen to produce such gray mud. Looks almost like a full body poultice.

Isn't that wild? How neat to find out the NYRA filly Delamont was thinking of was, in fact, a descendant of Ambiguity? I also noticed that Grandma's Double is described as having "blue eyes [and] high whites."

I might try tweeting at Barbara Livingston tomorrow to see if she has any pictures of the Ambiguity descendants mentioned here. I know she has a very extensive photo collection.

Yes its really neat. I wish I could find exactly when the coloring started but I can't find any photos between Amber Flash (Ambiguity's dam) and Conjure (Amber Flash's 5th dam). While Amber Flash has the blue eyes and lots of white, Conjure is just a plain bay or dark bay with what looks like no markings. I've found photos of all the stallions (Precipitation, Solario, Grand Parade, Torpoint, William The Third), none of them are flashy, William The Third has the most markings and its a narrow blaze and 2 small socks.

Punctuation, who I mentioned earlier, broke his maiden in fine style at Kempton today for HM The Queen. He got a bit excited in the gates.
