Was wanting to look up something and realized the catalog is not out yet. Isn't it usually already out by now? Just thought it seems late.

Wow, gotta give props to owners of Tizso, selling her at age 25..... Really? That is cold-blooded.

I guess they don't want to even try foaling out the Frosted foal she's carrying.CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 11:13 pm Thanks

Ok, so I'm all about breed your mare if you want - it's their thing and some are way more content with a foal at their side. But, geeze... here's the produce record of an almost 25 year old mare.

2001 TIZAKITTY, f. by Distinctive Cat. 4 wins at 3 and 4, $158,644, Kalookan
2002 Tizprecious, f. by Jade Hunter. Unplaced in 1 start. Dam of TIZ GIANNI
2003 Piazza Grande, f. by Hennessy. Unraced. Producer.
2004 Tizsong, g. by Unbridled's Song. Winner at 4, $23,080.
2005 TIZ WEST, c. by Gone West. 3 wins at 3, $263,761, Cinema H. [G3]
2006 Tizsotrue, f. by Dixie Union. Sent to Australia. Unraced. Dam of Tizso
2007 not pregnant
2008 aborted
2009 PAYNTER, c. by Awesome Again. 4 wins at 3 and 4, $1,101,924, Haskell

Curious to see how much #44 She's Grumpy from the great WV-bred dynasty of Roberta Grump will go for. I followed her dam and half-brother (and her aunts, and her cousins...).
If a mare's produce record is so long their 1st dam's information doesn't fit on the catalog page..might be time to pension the mare.bare it all wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 3:23 pmI guess they don't want to even try foaling out the Frosted foal she's carrying.CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 11:13 pm Thanks

Tizso was bought by a lady I know, Michelle Crawford of Crawford Racing. Her and her husband are known more in the Standardbred world, but they have owned El Deal and Shancelot. Michelle is very into horse aftercare and she said Tizso will be pensioned after having her foal

Thank you for sharing this. I hope the mare produces a strong, healthy foal for them.Summer Bird wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 4:06 pm Tizso was bought by a lady I know, Michelle Crawford of Crawford Racing. You’re welcome. She’s hoping for a filly to carry on her bloodlines, but she’s fine with a colt as wellmariasmon wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 5:00 pmThank you for sharing this. I suppose it is early (as the foal hasn't dropped yet) but do they plan to race the foal? I understand if it's a filly they'll keep her regardless but would they sell a colt?

If she does have a colt, it wouldn’t surprise me if they raced it. They have a retirement field for their geldings that they’ve raced

Just flipping through the results, didn't look like a stellar day for sellers.

Yeah, I was cringing at the lack of interest for decently bred mares in foal to decent stallions. I admit I can't see gross conformation flaws. I kept wanting to raise my hand!
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

The first session looks in line with most January session 1s to me. Its hard to compare 2020 with 2019's first session because there were mares like Abel Tasman last year and two others that attracted the big November buyers, who do not normally come to this sale. I think 2020 Session 1 is very comparable to 2018 Session 1.

I saw someone share her status on *Twitter (originally thought Facebook) and you can just tell how much they care about this mare. They have shared a few videos of her joining her new paddock mates and playing in the mud. A pretty 'cruddy' storyline with a happy outcome. I hope it goes Disney-esque and the Frosted foal becomes some sort of champion LOLSummer Bird wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 4:06 pm Tizso was bought by a lady I know, Michelle Crawford of Crawford Racing. She's Grumpy was a PS for $4000 to Michael Slezak, the entertainment journalist turned bloodstock agent for NY's Kaz Hill Farm. I imagine we will see her going to a nice NY stallion and babies at the NY sales in the future.
