I haven't seen any mention of it online, but Spun To Run had a good work on January 5 at Palm Meadows. 4 furlongs in 48:00; 2/45. That was last Sunday. Looking for another one in the next couple of days.

Silver State entered in LeComte Stakes at Fairgrounds on January 18. He won his debut by 9 lengths in a dead heat and then finished second in an allowance on the slop in his last.

Malpais
has been entered in the Duncan F. Kenner Stakes at the Fairgrounds on the same day.

EDIT to mention that all the Fairgrounds Derby prep races have been lengthened in distance this year. LeComte is now 1-1/16 miles instead of 1 mile and 70 yards, Risen Star is now 1 1/8 miles, LA Derby is now 1-3/16 miles (same distance as Preakness). Interesting.

Ranaan won his debut in race #7 at Sam Houston on January 11, and did it rather easily. His record is therefore 1-1-0-0.

OMG, Hidden Scroll is entered in race #9, an AOC, at Gulfstream next Friday, Jan 17. Hard Belle is in the same race.

LUCULLAN no longer pointing toward the Pegasus Turf. Makes sense since he was so low on the alternate list. Wonder where he's headed next. Ditto for A Thread Of Blue, who didn't run so well off the pace in the last race. Was it the extended time off, or does he need the lead? His speed figures were near his tops, so maybe he ran his race but the other horses just ran faster.

I figured Lucullan would be headed to the big money races in Dubai, since he's owned by Godolphin. Just a hunch. Wonder if that hunch will come true.

United, Starship Jubilee, A Thread of Blue, and Lucullan are no longer on the list of Turf invitees.

SPUN TO RUN worked 5/8ths in 1:03 today. Slower than his usual, but looked like there was an equipment malfunction. Take a look....

Appears Spun To Run's slower work was intentional, but it really does look like something came loose on his tack the way it's flopping around on the right side.

I really do agree with this article. The way the Pegasus is being covered, one might assume that Omaha Beach is the only horse in the race.

Hidden Scroll had a lung infection which accounted for a long layoff. First I heard that. May account for that 3rd in the allowance on Derby Day, but article is not specific about when the lung infection was diagnosed. I do hope he shows some talent this week. Last spring was disappointing.

Article on Silver State in the LeComte. This is the second person I have read who picks Silver State to win the race.

GREEN LIGHT GO has been working regularly at Gulfstream

Feb 1 is G3 Swale Stakes at 7 furlongs at Gulfstream and also 1 1/16 mi G3 Holy Bull.

Maybe GREEN LIGHT GO will be nominated. My bet is the 7 furlong Swale since he's coming off a layoff and longest race is 1 mile so far. Nominations aren't listed yet but my bet is that he's going to be pointed to the Swale. This is my hunch only based on seeing his work history.

HIDDEN SCROLL late scratch. Fractious in gate. Reared up and threw jockey. Hope both are okay.
