Is Omaha Beach worth 45k his first season at stud?

I like Omaha Beach, even the originally announced 40k fee seemed high but he has a great pedigree, is a good looking individual, and has a nice race record. I saw Spendthrift advertising he is the first horse in 30 years to win a G1 at 6f and 9f in the same year. His Malibu win was nice, Mike Smith didn't have to ask him to do anything, I don't know that is was enough to add to his fee though. I would imagine his book would have to have been mostly booked at that time and the people would get the prior 40k fee. Perhaps he is very very popular so they decided that the breeders late to booking their mares have to pay a little more.

You can get The Factor for a bit less than his advertised fee too.
I love Constitution for 40k, I think people were even paying more than that. I bred to him in 2018 and sold the baby well in November, but I couldn’t get into him this year, he was already full at the start of November. Hard Spun is great value for producing a runner, but not so much if you want to go to the sales.

Constitution and Liam's Map have really impressed me. It makes me wonder how Not This Time will do as a stallion?PlanetRock wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 2:41 pmYou can get The Factor for a bit less than his advertised fee too.

Taylor Made haven't had a successful stallion since Unbridled's Song and Saint Ballado. I happen to really like Not This Time, he's a stunning physical for a young stallion. I hope he bucks their trend of less than successful sires. Seems to me they just breed a ton of mares so they end up with mare in foal, and then weanling and yearling consignment volume. Maybe if they were trying to make the stallion, vs make sales consignments for themselves...KatieK101 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 10:47 pmConstitution and Liam's Map have really impressed me.
