2019 has been his best year since 2012 when he had Questing and Zo Impressive winning G1 races on the dirt. There were 3 G1 wins between them, but still only 2 G1 winners. And Questing got the Eclipse for 3yo filly. Also, I can't remember any year when he had a graded winning 2yo like Green Light Go. Am I overlooking someone? That slower to mature nature of his offspring is what I think has held him back from being a higher priced stallion. He had 29 stakes winners (maybe more, I forget now) in his first crop but many of those were 4yo and older by the time they did that. At the time they said no other stallion before him had ever gotten that many stakes winners in their first crop.
His 2020 stud fee is a steal. Wonder if he's fully booked.

Don't know, but he should be at that price because he is currently at #10 on general sires list for North America and #6 for all sires. He has regularly been in the top 20. He is only sire with 3 G1 winners. Quality Road has 4 and everyone else has fewer. 2019 has been a good year for him.

Other Things Equal won race #5 at Aqueduct today. Had a very wide trip so the win was better than it looked. He was also claimed by Steve Asmussen. His record is now 6-2-1-0.

It''s weird hearing of a 3 year old and then realizing this was a 2 year old a few days ago.

He has the side eye look, like some of the good ones do. Name is CENSORED. 2nd Dam isstakes winner Foxy Danseur. First dam is Miss Centerfold - stakes placed.

SPINOFF dropped off the radar Sept 2019. I keep checking for workouts or news stories and cannot find anything.
Not sure whether he's taking a layoff, was injured or retired or even if he is still alive. He was pointed to the G1 PA Derby per Pletcher as of a few days before entries for that race. Then he didn't enter and no reason was given and zero news about SPINOFF since then.

Yeah, I remember that. His last race was a good one. Baffling. I've been looking for works, too, but haven't seen anything. Wish I knew how to contact the Pletcher operation to ask.

Invitations to the Pegasus World Cup races are out. Spun To Run to the World Cup; A Thread of Blue and Lucullan are alternates for the Turf, so they will need some defections to get in. Blue is #3 and Lucullan #5 on the list of 5 alternates.

Maybe 1 of them runs in the G3. It's only nominations. Maybe neither of them run.

Yes, similar thing just happened for A Thread of Blue re the Tropical Park Derby before the holidays, though in that instance he was entered but scratched. I imagine trainers nominate for way more races that they expect to actually enter. Then they can pick and choose which have the most favorable circumstances in relation to how the horse is doing at the time. All good!
