Hey everyone :) Glad the board is back.

I don't plan on posting much, but am trying to respond to a PM and it's not letting me I guess because of 'not participating' enough', so I'm hoping a post or two will do the trick.

I do have some info. Saw in the TDN that Bersagliere won in Japan at Hanshin. Don't know any details other than it was 9 furlongs.

Still not letting me PM :(

So... I will try one or two more posts.

Uruguay champion 2 and 3 year old filly Lady Fund by Fund of Funds has been retired and will be bred to Smarty (translated version).
Lady Fund, the undisputed best filly of the generation born in the 2009 season, not compete anymore. Because the tear was only that I had removed from the tracks for much of this year, its owner, Raul Cazalas, decided to remove it, to an extent, no doubt, correct.

Displaying a rare versatility, Decisive maternal granddaughter came second in his first two presentations about 750 meters and then won in races that were from a thousand to two thousand meters. Defending the stud The cake won two Group One: the selection and Polla, the Criterium (G2) and the classic Thirty-Three Orientals and John Amoroso.

"It was the best mare I trained" Ramon Peralta said when asked about the chestnut concept. "She was generous to all and very easy to care for," said the composer.

In the next few weeks will be served by Smarty Jones and so will begin his time as breeding, which, surely, will continue to talk about.

Ran 4th, but GHF seems satisfied. Craig Bernick tweeted that they will look for longer races, and try to avoid Indy Point, who, I think, set a stakes record. ;-)

Update on some of Smarty's daughters -- i.e., the Smarty as Broodmare Sire subthread! Some of this info is from the ever-amazing Heather!

Cash Finance -- full sis to Keefer, Centralinteligence et al, and winner in Italy -- apparently has returned to the US, since she's hip #310 in the KEENov Breeding Stock sale. I am relieved, since racing in Italy is in free fall.

Smarty Kota, in foal to First Defence, is also in the KEENov sale. She had a filly by First Samurai in 2012, who sold for $25K at KEESept, and a filly by Midshipman in 2013.

Flash Mash appears to have been retired from racing, since she's now at a farm -- Hara du Mont-dit-Mont -- in France.

And Antigone Jones -- "Tiggy" to those of us who loved her ;-) -- has surfaced in Australia. She had a foal by Flying Spur (Danehill) in 2012. Don't know yet who she was bred to this year, but it should be popping soon. She also had a Mineshaft colt in 2011, before being exported. His name is Smart Miner, and he started working at Remington in September

Thanks for that link, Flanders. Why would someone put a saddle on a pregnant broodmare for a photo?
