I highly doubt that. Any time a horse is exported to these countries, people are up in arms.

I'd much rather have Hansen with some nose marks than hearing about him flipping over backwards and killing himself.

It's pretty ridiculous to look at that one small picture and make the leap to OMG someone's been yanking him around with a chain!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with Izvestia on this. There are a dozen different ways Hansen could have banged up his own face either accidentally or on purpose (by rubbing.) Anyone who buys an expensive horse makes sure that the horse receives quality care--no matter what country they live in. And anyone who would look at that picture and assume that Hansen has been mistreated has obviously never lived with a horse.

Then you too assume too much.

from being around horses, they all have weird little marks on them. it's so much more visible on greys because you have near white hair and black skin - any mark or rub is going to really stand out. he's fine, looks like he's ok, and most of all, looks like he's been a normal horse.

Lord Kanaloa is a handsome fellow. Very reminiscent of the Norther Dancer type that has dominated British racing for so long.

Too bad, as he has been a very good sire there. Was he the last son of the great Weekend Surprise standing at stud? What a mare...A.P. Indy, Summer Squall, Honor Grades, Tiger Ridge...she was a stallion-maker. You talk about a sire-of-sires? She was a dam-of-sires.

Is Eavesdropper still around? He went to Australia in 2009. Says PQ.

He's a strong-looking fellow and, at only 14, we can hope that he's around for a long time. I see that he's by Kingmambo...Weekend Surprise sure visited the best stallions, didn't she?

Wow! Although he's a bay, Eavesdropper looks so much like Secretariat that it's amazing. Too bad he's buried on a farm way down under and unavailable to U.S. breeders.

Eavesdropper has a fair amount of American foals, I remember sales prepping 10 or so during my sales times.. I worked with TIger Ridge for many years at Hartley/De Renzo he was a really good horse to be around.. I have kept up with his career in South AFrica, with private tweets to the manager at the farm and other staff.. They are devastated about this loss, and have so many lovely foals by him.. Im so sad.. RIP Tiger...

Eavesdropper started his career at stud in Kentucky, then moved to Pennsylvania. He was sold to Australia in 2009.

And they quote the William Blake poem:"Tiger! Tiger! burning bright. . ."
