The buyer of D'Wildcat and Closing Argument is actually Gerald Averett Jr. (they have his name misspelled in the sales results on one of the stallions). He owns Averett Farm in Louisiana and stands stallions.

They have a Facebook page. Those horses need all the prayers we can give them.

The horses look fine on the facebook page, don't know why they "need all the prayers we can give them." Obviously if their past owner put them in that auction these two at least ended up in a soft spot. Who knows what happens to the other 2.

Its not a new farm, its been standing stallions for at least 10 years that I can find while looking for 1 minute.

They stand Greeley's Galaxy, too. Yeah, their online advertising leaves something to be desired, but the horses look well cared for, so I'm not sure why they need all the prayers.

3. Clickbait is popular, research is not
4. Internet social justice warrior-ing is super in

Edit: my entire post is a reflection of what I see online, not really here in general.

It's possible that all the horse welfare issues that have seemed to plague Louisiana in recent years have made some folks view LA as a step below Korea when it comes to stallion destinations.

Just watched this interview with the CEO of Cambridge Stud about how the devastating loss of Roaring Lion has affected them
https://youtu.be/NyEpPOR5MJM

The stallion being shod at the start is Tavistock who is now out of service for the rest of the seaon and has recently had 2 surgeries on his foot after a paddock accident

I think something like this here in Kentucky would be nice, they used to do this in years past, but now with the horse farm tours that charge to visit the farms, I doubt they would do this again. Our family used to go and it was nice to visit the farms and see our heroes. Not everything has to cost money.

If they can do this in Ireland (and Japan I think does this as well), no reason not to do it here.

Most of the big stud farms have "open" houses during the Yearling and breeding stock sales, but not sure how "open" they are to hoi polloi.

That moment when you realize looking at Hawkbill's pedigree, he comes from the same female family as Cozzene, Fall Aspen and her brood, Dixie Union, etc, and realize he could combine with a number of daughters of these.

Three Chimneys had an open house Derby week with everyone welcome. But the smell of barbecue for "invited guests" was a killer!
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.
