I saw a Facebook post that Colerful Chrome has relocated to the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center from Taylor Made...if this is true I'm happy for her... someone is about to get a chance to adopt a very regally bred filly for a very reasonable price(far less than shed bring at auction had she remained healthy)

What happened to her that she's not healthy?
I knew about the eye as a baby but that doesn't effect them that much.

She is not being sent there to be adopted; just to be trained as a hunter/jumper/trail horse, whatever she seems best suited for.

Taylor Made has stated that they will not sell her, and she will always have a home with them.

She contracted a relatively uncommon infection that affected cartilage in her throat. It's an infection that can be caused by trauma. The infection displaced cartilage in some way, though not being a vet I don't know how to explain it. She needed a tracheotomy to breathe, and when the cartilage did not reduce and go back to normal on its own, she needed an operation. She has been a very unlucky filly in her brief life, so hopefully the move to the adoption center for non-racing training will turn her luck around for the better. I sure hope so. She is very gentle and people-oriented, so personally I think she would make a really great therapy horse.

As for TM and their partner in The People's Horse project, True Ink, they seem to be trying to make the best of a difficult public relations situation.

I watched this little one's birth on the livestream. I logged on about five minutes before mama laid down, and it didn't take long for her to get out of the oven.

This kiddo was very interesting to watch. It took her 45 minutes to an hour, or maybe a little over, to stand and walk. She would stand halfway up, then fall, then stand halfway up and take two steps, then fall. Rinse and repeat. She ended up "shuffling" or "inchworming" to the opening of the stall (which had a rope door) and then she laid halfway out of it. The handlers picked her front feet up and drug her back in. I think she did this twice. She would also inchworm over to a wall, stand up, and then fall into the wall. Handlers tried to hold her up a few times.

Once she sneezed, and it scared mama to the point where she shrieked. Then mama started pawing her, trying to get her up. Mama tried "too hard" and they had to intervene.

She tried so hard. Cute but also worrying and pitiful.

Kentucky Equine Adoption Center finally made a post about Colerful Chromes arrival...about ten minutes into reading the comments posted by the crazy Chromies I wanted to find a brick wall to beat my head against...so many entitled people DEMANDING to know why Taylor made never informed them the horse was being moved prior to her relocation..an equally amount of demanding people wanting to know when they will be allowed to see or meet the filly.. wanting to know when they can visit...I forgot how Crazy the Chromies can be...I was nearly as annoyed as I am when I have my stupid moments and read posts written by Zenyatta zealots..I felt like saying look people CHILL..this filly is NOT your horse, you don't pay her bills and you are lucky the Taylor family was generous enough to release ANY information on her period...and quite a few even crazier people kept saying and acting like THEY OWN Colerful Chrome themselves...I wanted to say have some respect, KEAC is a working rescue...they've got other horses to take care of, adoptions to process and like most rescues I'm going to assume their full time staff is limited and they mostly rely on volunteers...if KEAC wants to host an open house/meet and greet like stonestreet does with the see Rachel days and spendthrift does with the beholder tours that's fine...but please let them announce any such plans on their own terms and by all means..STOP pestering the farm...that's what turns facilities off from allowing the public Access in the first place...entitled guests who feel they have a right to know everything

I assume that people are acting like they own her because they took the 'People's Horse' thing literally and believe they do own her. I hope she makes a lovely riding horse for somebody and glad they aren't pushing her into something she wouldn't be successful at.

She lost her left eye while still a young suckling. Some unknown kind of paddock accident. Then, as a yearling, she developed a relatively uncommon throat infection that ended up requiring surgery to repair displaced cartilage in her neck. This yearling filly has had more bad luck in her first year of life than almost seems possible. I hope she now can go on to a happier life in whatever role will suit her.

Sounds to me like there were offering a chance to buy a share of Colerful Chrome.

Buy in started at $149 to be a Barn Member and $500 to be a Barn Champ.

I guess if I ponied up $149 or $500 I might feel a wee bit entitled to be kept informed. I didn't buy into it, but I think a friend of mine did. She does a lot of large partnership owner groups

I recall they were talking about possibility of buying equity at the upper level, but I have no idea if that came about or not.
