Speaking of KJ, I noticed that the Ramseys sent two (that I know of) mares to Roaring Lion. One of which is Granny Franny, the dam of Kitten's Dumplings.

I'm curious as to whether they've brought them back to the US to foal or of they'll keep them in Europe and try another stallion. Regardless I'm happy that we'll more than likely have a couple 'Lions' running in the states at Canada!

EDIT: Just remembered that Granny is boarded in Europe and devilered a Bobby's Kitten baby recently.

I would love to see more Kittens running abroad.
I had to check the results. They actually wound up with 4 KJs, the full to Bobby's Kitten, the $700K colt, another one for $325K who's from the family of Forestry and Cash Run, plus a filly for $100K, who was the cheapest horse Shadwell bought from Book 1. I would guess all of them will at least start their careers in Europe.

Was there some major issue with the KJ filly who's 1/2 to Lady of Fifty? She was listed as sold for $35K to Dixiana in what appears to be a buyback (partnership dissolution?). That seems exceptionally low and she wasn't an obvious trainwreck in the photos the consignor posted on social media.
Don’t know if there was anything wrong with her, but I do know Dixiana bought her back since she was a foal share. I’m assuming they’ll sell her as a two yr old next year

You’re welcome! Unless they go for decent prices I think quite a bit of the Kitten’s Joys Dixiana is selling will be bought back since they’re all foal shares

Do you expect Dixiana to race some of them?

It’s possible if the owner really wants to keep some of them. They’re all fillies, which is what he prefers to keep

The filly out of Warbling went for $260K earlier, to what I believe are Japanese connections.

They seem to be doing well relative to his stud fee.

Hip 50: California Chrome x Right There a filly bought by Shadai for 180 000$
Hip 97: California Chrome x Somethingaboutbetty a filly bought by Capital Systems Co. Ltd for 200 000$
Hip 203: California Chrome x Academic Break a colt bought by Tri-State Bloodstock for 225 000$
Hip 661: California Chrome x Take D'Tour a filly who RNA'd at 37 000$
Hip 700: the aforementioned Warbling.

All were consigned by Taylor Made Except:

Hip 331: California Chrome x Curlin's Gold a colt consigned by VanMeter-Gentry Sales who was an OUT

Edit: There are three more Chromes slated to go through today, including a colt out of Laffina who had a very nice update to the catalogue as the half brother of Bast who won the Del Mare Debutante. (Hip 881)
The other two are Hip 865 a filly out ofJet Black Magic and Hip 907 a colt by Mamma Kimbo.

I think that’s awesome for Chrome. It would be so great if he could make an international impact; the fact that he got a Grade 1 on turf probably helps his case.

Didn't Japan try really hard to get Chrome's connections to run him over there?

The update paid off for the Laffina colt who became Chrome's highest seller when he hammered down at 325 000$ bought by Baoma Corp.
The filly Hip 865 was an OUT.
907 RNA'd at 115 000$

Hip 923 is a filly by American Pharoah who's second dam is Magical Illusion who is also the second dam of Justify. Just missed the fireworks at 975 000$
Gorgeous filly. Pharoah is really stamping his babies with balanced structure and curious, calm demeanour.

That’s another one that I took care of too on the farm. So happy that both the Pharoahs the farm bred did so well.

Congrats Summer Bird that's amazing! I can't imagine how thrilled you must be! Were they always this sweet as babies?

The filly was actually quite spooky, but her mom isn’t the friendliest so it made sense why she didn’t warm up to people too much. I think she got better as a yearling. Her Candy Ride sister happens to be really sweet (go figure). The Escampette colt was very sweet, but he had a very cocky attitude sometimes
