Single Gaze(AUS) --> Lord Kanaloa(JPN) (in foal)
From memory they were both sold to Japan so I assume these are NH time foals?
Yes. Both are NH time foals.

Sure would be chuffed if he got a good colt or two from that bunch.
Hopefully he gets his Dubawi from his unfortunately Dubai Millennium-esque situation.
That's actually exactly what I am hoping for.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but according to a article (about Curlin-Bounding) Lady Aurelia missed to Curlin this year but will try again next year.
Ask me any questions you have about New Zealand and Australia racing

She was bred to Kantharos.
Wow, really? That’s definitely not who I expected them to send her to.
She is carrying a filly according to the video on TDN.

Another poster said she was bred to Bolt d Oro... can anyone confirm who she was actually bred to?

I would trust Maria's Mon's word on that.

You might be confusing Leslie with Lotta Kim, who was bred to Bolt d'Oro (for some reason).

In a TVG interview, Frank Mitchell conforms it’s a Kantharos filly

Thank you for clarification! I couldnt hear what was said on there (deaf) and no subtitles. Someone on FB page posted the sire being Bolt d Oro. I have no clue why that poster said him.

Kantharos is turning out to be a good sire.

He's 20, so is it possible he was pensioned?
The foals from Deep Impact's last 24 breedings are sure to be prized by buyers.
I see that Orfevre had a drop from 136 to 52. Does that indicate some disappointment in his foals? :?

If they are unhappy with him as a sire they could always send him to the US. I’m sure some farm would snap him up in a heartbeat. Not that it would happen, but I can dream can’t I? 🤗

I still cannot believe that Lord Kanaloa covered 294 mares in 2018. At least that number went down in 2019, even in the absence of Deep Impact.

I wonder if, after the issues of Deep Impact and his neck, we'll see Shadai more evenly distributing at least some of the mares that they own in 2020. Or if they will continue to roll the dice with massive books for their top stallions.

Kurofune is more or less pensioned I think. Was left out of the stallion parade along with King Kam back in Feb.

Kurofune(USA), 21yo, had a year off to restore his health.
He is still expected to resume his stud duty only privately next year.

Of side note, he is now #2 in the BMS Ranking follwing the great Sunday Silence.

Orfevre(JPN), 3rd crop sire, managed to sire two G1 winners (2yo champ filly Lucky Lilac and Satsuki Sho winner Epoca d'Oro) from his first crop.
But his winners-to-runners ratio in JRA for his first crop shrunk to 29%.
Hence the drop. :(

I wouldn't imagine that the Yoshidas can be totally indifferent to the debate going on in the US (I mean the Jockey Club's call for the 140 mares cap per stallion) especially after the early deaths of Deep Impact and King Kamehameha.

On the other hand, Gold Ship seems to have has a nice little start, especially in view of the fact neither his number of mares or quality of mares compare to Orfevre's
(or most of the Shadai stallions for that matter.) I really want one of Stay Gold's sons to be a big. success.
