TDN has a video of Leslie's Lady, including her AP yearling filly and her foal by Not This Time. I can't find a normal link to it.. its just in their video bar.

Wow. Wonder what kind of reserve they’ll set for her and if they’re courting Mandy Pope already.

Graded stakes winner and dam of Midnight Bisou, Diva Delite is going to the Fasig-Tipton November Sale.

She went to the same sale last year and brought $750,000. Now that Midnight Bisou is a probable Eclipse winner and potential Horse of the Year, I wonder what she’ll go for?

Chasing Yesterday has been retired. Per Jane Lyon in a Thoroughbred Racing article:

Lyon brought Chasing Yesterday home to Summer Wind after that race and the filly will not race again.

“Yesterday did everything she needed to do for me. She tried her heart out; she gave everything she had,” Lyon said. “When she entrapped her epiglottis, I knew she was out of the Kentucky Oaks, which she had qualified for, so I brought her home, and the more I looked at her, the more I realized that she didn’t owe me anything. She needed to have a chance to be a horse, and she is growing and maturing and filling out and she seems extremely happy.”

Northern Horse Park has announced that ''Northern Farm Broodmare Sales'' would be held on Oct 22nd 2019.
This has to be the first time Kastumi Yoshida's Northern Farm holds its own broodmare sale.
60 mares are to be offered from Northern Farms' 800+ broodmare band.

https://northernfarm-broodmare-sale.jp/
https://northernfarm-broodmare-sale.jp/list.html

There's no English page yet (unfortunately)..
But I can find familiar names (including some imported mares) on the book.

Mia Mischief will be offered at the Fasig-Tipton sale, after her supposed run in the Breeder’s Cup Filly & Mare Sprint.

Yes I just saw that, how sad, she wasn’t very old. At least she leaves behind some well bred youngsters who may help their dam’s memory live on.

Apologies if this was already answered, but does anyone know who Union Strike was bred to? I thought Bolt d’Oro but recently someone said she was sent to Frankel?

Ruis said she was going to Bolt d'Oro, then she was consigned to the 2018 Keeneland November Sale and while she RNA'd, I think Juddmonte bought her privately. She was exported and bred to Frankel.

Yes, the RNA to Sale report shows that Juddmonte bought her for $1.65 million (she RNAd at $1.9 mil).

Besides the odd mare/filly in training purchase for a new/future stallion prospect (Paulassilverlining for Arrogate comes to mind), Juddmonte seldom seems to buy any broodmares at all, let alone American mares for their European stallions.

Definitely an interesting purchase, and knowing the genius of Khalid Abdullah and his advisors, I'm sure it will pay dividends.

Maybe with Paulassilverlining they figured if they bought her while she was racing, they wouldn't have to worry about losing her in a bidding war and the winner not wanting to sell privately + any benefits of her winnings, like if she won the Breeders' Cup. Atypical yes but if that was their thinking then that makes sense.

I was under the impression that the mares adopted through OTTB organizations like New Vocations prohibited the adopters from using them as broodmares? Or is that a rule only a few of them implement? I ask because this mare is listed in the Available Graduates section of New Vocations as of today. She has apparently been used for breeding and is registered with another warmblood registry. She's pictured with a foal at her side and the description makes it sound like she's still open for breeding.

Also, I'm not sure where else to ask this, but while on topic...are there any aftercare/retraining groups for quarter horses?

Kakadu, the dam of American Pharoah's first foal, was pensioned from breeding due to reproductive issues and is now in training for the show ring.

Its the name of a National Park in Australia. It doesn't sound bad with proper pronunciation.
