I just saw where they purchased Mitole. Personally, I always feel a bit deflated when Spendthrift buys a young, excellent horse - they're pretty quick to rush them off to stud once the season is over.

Mitole is four so it isn't quite so bittersweet, but I was bummed when they retired Gormley, Bolt d'Oro and Free Drop Billy at three. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll allow Omaha Beach to race as an older horse since he missed the summer races, but it would be unusual for them to do so.

Someone had wondered if Turkey had a Tapit son; now they do.
I do wish that Hansen had been the one, so he could escape Korea...before it's decided he's worth more by the pound than as a sire. :(

Trappe shot being sold surprises me...I did not think it common for Claiborne sires to go overseas. I can't remember the last ones...other farms like Winstar and spendthrift sure but nope not Claiborne

I'd think he would have a buyback clause in place to prevent that

They don't do it as often, IIRC. It depends on what offers they have for the stallion, what the shareholders/partners want to do, and whether or not they think he would be better off pensioned (i.e. Data Link).

They don't retire as many stallions to their farm as others do, so its not going to seem as common. Like when you compare them to WinStar and Spendthrift who brings in numerous new stallions every year, while in 2019 Claiborne had no new stallions and only one in 2018.
It completely depends who owns the stallion. Most syndicates are going to look to sell the stallion. In the cases of Parading and Data Link, they weren't owned by syndicates, and their owners chose to pension them. I can think of Stroll (who came back to the US), Political Force, Horse Chestnut, and Horse Greeley, who stood at Claiborne but were sold overseas. I can think of more but they stood at Claiborne in the 90s.

Apparently Tizway cannot be shipped directly from South Korea to Turkey, so he's being brought back to the United States and will hang out at Elmendorf Farm with Trappe Shot and Air Vice Marshal before heading out in January.

Access to horses in quarantine is typically restricted to the people who need to care for them.

Not in person (it is quarantine) but his new owners took a conformation photo of him last week. Along with a short video that zooms in on his... "important" parts.

Apparently there is some controversy over a photo posted by the site Liderform claiming Tizway was in poor condition and that he was being misrepresented by the new owner posting his older American conformation photo.
Bad google translation of the owner's statement:
"The old pictures of 2017, which was taken during the 106-day quarantine period after passing from America to Korea after a long journey of our stallion, were published on a horse racing site as if it was taken as a 'current and last photo'. Publication does not necessarily reflect the facts. Already careful breeders will easily understand that the published picture is out of date and that it is currently the summer season in Korea. Therefore, the photo in question, which we know for what purpose and intent, is certainly not a photograph showing the latest status of Tizway. We wanted to share the photo and video of our stallion dated 20 August 2019 with you. Before the breeding season in Turkey, in America Tizway will make season preparation under the care of the Turkish culture"

Liderform responded and are standing by their portrayal of the Korea photo as the most recent state of the stallion and are also claiming that this new photo is photoshopped somehow.

It seems that horse racing internet drama is not just an American phenomenon.

I don't care what time of the year that upper photo was taken; that horse is in poor condition. And if that happened during quarantine, what the hell are their quarantine conditions like? A horse that is being cared for properly shouldn't end up looking like a refugee from Camerero after the hurricane.

In the new photo, his left foot looks swollen by the hoof. I am not sure if its actually like that or the photo is distorted a bit

Horses can lose a lot of weight during transport and quarantine so I wouldn't be surprised if that was a quarantine, post-transport photo.

I remember people seeing photos of Hansen on his arrival in Korea. He looked a little banged up and tired, and people were already crying abuse, but he had literally just stepped off the boat. The photos were taken for immediate identification purposes for SoKo's registry.

Also Chrome had dropped some weight when he returned home from Ascot or arrived at Ascot (don't remember).

Mustajeeb (Nayef x Rifqah, by Elusive Quality) has arrived at Ravdansens Stuteri in Sweden where he will commence stud duty in 2020. The MGSW previously stood at Haras de Fleury in France.
