Hayayakko(JPN), 2016C. King Kamehameha(JPN) x Marshmallow(JPN) by Kurofune(USA), made history as he won the G3 Leopard Stakes 1800m dirt for 3yos at Niigata on August 4th 2019.
He became the first white thoroughbred to win a graded stakes.

He is a lovely colt. Though I don't find the bottom picture appealing. He is soooo pink. It will be very interesting if he can be even more successful on the track and secure a stud deal.

He's hot and wet there, you'd not see that much pink on him dry. I'm guessing Marshmallow also carried grey from her sire as this colt certainly looks grey as well as W pattern white.

The Racingpost article about Hayayakko described the G3 Leopard as "Japan's sole graded dirt race."

What?

Maybe they meant the only graded dirt race at Nigata?

But there aren't very many in any case...

Conformation-wise, Hayayakko is a handsome horse. I just kind of hate his coloring (sorry ).
They must have to buy sunscreen by the gallon for him.

I imagine being covered in sweat/water at that time of day (lighting) probably causes him to look pinker than he actually is.

Yes, I know that was why he was so pink. But I still don't like it. He looks perfectly fine in the top picture and other pictures I saw of him. It was just kind of shocking to see just how pink white thoroughbreds get. I guess I've never really followed a white thoroughbred.

I remember from pictures she has two big spots on the inside of her front left leg.

His dam Madre Bonita(JPN)(by Jungle Pocket) is a 1/2 to Peer Gynt(JPN)(by Sunday Silence), multiple grade stakes winner & sire of multiple G2 winner Flamboyant(FR).
His second dam Twinkle Bride(JPN)(by Lyphard) was the G1 Oka Sho runner-up.

The photographer shared another shot of the 4 y/o paint thoroughbred shown earlier in the thread. She confirms he is the Bah Da Bling x Janine colt. He doesn't have a name yet; the trainer (who must own him) submitted names to the Jockey Club and is letting them pick. The exercise rider in the photo is none other than the trainer and probable owner, Mike Sandoval. Horse looks very stout.

This dude has a name now! He has been registered as Variegated. To be "variegated" means to vary in color or markings.
