Bleh.

Also, can we talk about how, at 48, Frankie Dettori is at the peak of his remarkable career? 11 Group 1s in eight weeks:

Sussex Stakes
Goodwood Cup
King George
Irish Oaks
Prix Jean Prat
Coral-Eclipse
Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud
Commonwealth Cup
Gold Cup
Prince Of Wales’s
Oaks

aaaaand leading rider at Royal Ascot with 7 wins, 4 of which coming in a row on the Thursday.

He's had his ups and downs, and after his split with Godolphin, I really thought that was the end of it. He is great for the sport, not only does he have a big personality, but he can back it up with some amazing riding.

I know she wasn’t a descendant of Deep Impact, but I am so happy for Deidre and her connections and Japanese fans that she won

Very Sad to see Aussie Showstopper break down badly during the Molecomb at Goodwood and was euthanized. Maven off the board.

Holy F-15, Battash is freakin' fast! :o
Battaash registers max speed approaching 50mph in King George blitz
Blistering, brazen and the boss. There is no beating Battaash at Goodwood and the fiercely fast five-year-old clocked speeds approaching 50mph on the way to his historic third King George victory.
Battaash peaked at 48.63mph during the second furlong of the five-furlong dash...

Between the death of Sea of Class and the retirements of Calyx and Too Darn Hot, the 2019 turf season really isn't panning out entirely as I expected... or hoped.

Enable and Stradivarius need to be bubble wrapped asap.

Looks like a rematch coming up! Monarch of Egypt (American Pharoah o/o Up(IRE) ) - and Siskin (First Defense o/o Bird Flown) are both declared for the Gr1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at Curragh this Friday 9-August 7:25pm, https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/17 ... -09/733492

Last out for both of them was the Gr2 Gain Railway Stakes in June, and Siskin got the win; Monarch of Egypt had to settle for 2nd.

Japan has become one of the best 3yo colts O'Brien has had in recent years. IMHO, he may turn out to be Enable's biggest threat in the Arc.

Frankie Dettori very emotional after the race, expressed how special Enable is to him.

I really want her to get that 3rd Arc but she has already stamped herself as an all time great and I’m looking forward to seeing how she does as a broodmare. I suspect she’ll be seeing Dubawi at stud as her first mating. Galileo and Frankel are a little too closely related IMO. But Sea The Stars would be a lovely match ;)
