https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... ss-at-20-1Wednesday turned into a family affair for Minit to Stardom in the Honorable Miss (gr. 2). The 4-year-old filly is the first graded stakes winner for her sire, Star Guitar —a leading stallion in Louisiana and an accomplished Brittlyn Stable homebred—and her 3-year-old brother Star Fitzstall broke his maiden at Delaware Park earlier in the day.

I find Gold Ship antics more annoying and dangerous than majestic or quirky. With every photo I see of him rearing, I like him less, and I really wasn't a huge fan of him when he was in training. He either won or threw in the towel and lost by enormous margins. Hopefully his offspring don't inherit his mind.
Sorry for the venting. I know no one asked for a public declaration of my opinion on the horse, but there you have it!

You're not alone. When I watched Gold Ship rear and kick at the gate, or Lani try his damnedest to kill a stall handler, I kept thinking, "in most jurisdictions, that wouldn't be tolerated."
Gold Ship may have been good enough to justify not getting the 'ultimate equipment change,' but IMHO Lani would have lost his family jewels pretty quickly in America or Europe.

TDN reports that New Year's Day is currently in quarantine at Darby Dan on his way to Japan. A farm, believed to be Shadai, purchased him from the Brazilian farm who bought him last year. I'm sure Shadai will support him well, if that's where he's going.
Have there been any updates on Deep Impact this summer?

I still don't know which farm is to introduce him to Japan.
I haven't had any fresh news on Deep Impact, either.

You are absolutely right, Mariasmon.
That's why Gold Ship is loved by everyone here and Lani may be not...
Gold Ship was a real champion.
But Lani was not even a stakes winner in Japan, anyway.
