10yo Spectrus won Race 3 at Century Mile (7/7/19). Began his career on the big stage at Santa Anita and Hollywood Park after being purchased by Jerry Moss for 80K, and trained by John Shirreffs. Later transferred to Steve Sherman, and then began his descent into the claiming ranks. 2nd win for the old man this season.

Here is an article from Australia: https://www.breednet.com.au/news/7658/A ... rby-winner

Here is a video of the race. The distance was 1 1/2 miles. It was on July 14. He is the #9 horse. Goes wide on the first turn, then tucks in closer for the second turn and sneaks through on the rail on the last turn.

I found this video of his win in the Swedish Derby Trial on June 26. Also at 1 1/2 miles. Looks like he won by 8 or 9 lengths:

Spun to Run finished 3rd in the G1 Haskell at Monmouth Park on July 20. He was 30-1 and out ran those odds, though was well back of the first two finishers. He had not raced since March 23, so probably tired. He was not on my radar prior to this and I was surprised when I saw him entered. He acquitted himself well, though, considering the layoff and his odds. He sure is a beautiful dark bay/brown colt! One to keep an eye on.

No idea what is going on with Spinoff and Hidden Scroll....Spinoff's last was a disaster. The grass experiment didn't work. Hidden Scroll has been off since Derby Day, I think. He finished 3rd in an allowance that day. Both of them had auspicious beginnings and fingers crossed they can live up to some of that promise. Haven't seen A Thread of Blue lately, either. ???

Pleasecallmeback won his debut in race #7 at Woodbine today. He lugged out and then back in, but he was well clear so didn't interfere with anyone.

Rocketry entered in Birdstone Stakes at Saratoga on August 1. This is 1 3/4 miles. He will have to get by Marconi, but the longer the distances have been this year, the closer he has gotten to him. At 1 1/2 miles he was within a half length at the line. Another quarter mile in this one will hopefully give him enough time to make his run and get there. Same distance as the Marathon Stakes he won last fall and in which he ran his fastest number ever. And the blinkers are coming off. They didn't do anything for him in the Suburban. Fingers crossed!

Solent won race #8 at Indiana Grand today. Her record is now 5-1-1-0. Boy, did she close like a shot! After pretty slow fractions, too. Her dam is Sightseek! I just noticed that tonight. She is a Juddmonte homebred.

I found the replay by searching for Indiana Grand rather than the horse. You have to have an account, but it is free.
