William Haggas has this morning announced that Sea of Class (2nd to Enable in the Arc last year, Irish Oaks winner) is fighting for her life after a bout of colic. She underwent surgery on Wednesday which has ended her career at this point. Just really hoping this exceptional filly pulls through. She deserves to live out a good life in the paddocks.

The news about Sea of Class is devastating, and I hope she makes a full recovery. She was my favourite horse in training and tbh I think the only horse in training who could come close to beating Enable.

Ten Sovereigns was an impressive winner of the July Cup (G1) at Newmarket for AOB. Advertise was second.

Sadly, Beat the Bank suffered a fatal injury even as he was crossing the line the winner in the G2 Summer Stakes. :(

He's shaping up to be O'Brien's best 3 year old

Re. Beat the Bank, he was tough as nails, and those connections just have some horrific luck. First, the owner of King Power Racing dies in a tragic helicopter crash last fall, then they lose their best horse in devastating fashion. Not that a human and horse's life are equal, but still, two tremendous losses for one stable.

Cheval Grand(JPN), 2012H. Heart's Cry(JPN) x Halwa Sweet(JPN) by Machiavellian(USA), arrived safely in New Market. :D
The 7yo veteran is slated run in the King Geroge then in the Juddomonte International.
He gets Oisin Murphy.

She didn't make it.
"The reason for colic surgery on Sea Of Class in the first place was to remove an abdominal mass sitting between the spleen and liver which had intertwined with her gut. That mass was removed and some of the gut taken out.

"However, the mass turned out to be a malignant tumour known as a lymphoma. Her surgeon Richard Payne and specialist Celia Marr warned us that lymphomas can be aggressive and so it proved.

"Having made sure and steady progress under the excellent veterinary team at Rossdale's she took a turn for the worse at 4.30am this morning and a subsequent scan revealed another tumour the size of an orange.
So devastating. She had the potential to be an all time great, in my opinion.

It's a nice field. Crystal Ocean and Anthony Van Dyck have been talked about the most as the most likely to upset Enable. But I'm actually rooting for the up-and-coming Defoe and the Japanese seven-year-old Cheval Grand to hit the frame.
