Barry the Baptist won race #7 at Edenhope in Victoria, Australia on June 9. He is the #3 horse. Toward the back early. Makes a strong middle move to take the lead and win it.

Hard Legacy just won the 1-1/8 mile G3 Regret Stakes at Churchill Downs. Owned by Marylou Whitney, whose family bred the race's namesake, Regret, the first filly to ever win the Kentucky Derby. This filly has been showing talent all along, and it all came together tonight. Her first try at this distance. She won her first two races a 1-1/16 miles, then off the board in two stakes races at 1 mile. She led nearly all the way and shrugged off a mild challenge in the home stretch to win by a length or two. I was too excited by the win to make note of the exact margin! I think they said this was her trainer's (Norm Casse) first stakes win! And another graded stakes winner for Hard Spun! Her record is now 5-3-0-0.

Another G3 stakes win for Hard Spun today in Australia.

Gatting won the G3 Hyperion Stakes at Belmont in Western Australia. Apparently it was something of an upset, but Gatting is a multiple graded stakes winner. They need to learn how to turn on their microphones...I fear we missed some interesting comments.

Hard Belle finally won a race, by almost 4 lengths! Race #8 at Gulfstream Park today. Hope his new connections treat him better and place him better. He's gone from a 4% trainer to a 22% trainer. This was just his second win. He's definitely got some speed. His record is now 16-2-1-1.

Some stakes entries coming up on Saturday.

Afleet Destiny is entered in the G3 Delaware Oaks. She appears overmatched.

Shooting the Breeze is entered in teh G3 Kent Stakes at Delaware Park

Rocketry is entered in the G2 Suburban Stakes at 1-1/4 miles. This is a short distance for him, but they have added blinkers, so it will be interesting to see if that gets him more forwardly placed. He always comes running in his races and closes well on the leaders, but doesn't seem to get his run going early enough for shorter distances. Maybe the blinkers will change that.

Spinoff is entered in the G1 Belmont Derby at 1-1/4 miles. This will be his grass debut. Might as well take a shot on the turf. Some Hard Spuns like it.
