He sure is stood up nicely for that pic. Photographer and handler(s) did a really good job.

Lovely horse. On the thread about remembering live races, I had mentioned that I'd not seen another horse as elegant as Alysheba. But Logotype has the same kind of elegance that Alysheba had in his head and neck. Also, Logotype has Risen Star in his pedigree, which is a delightful surprise.

Agreed! Logotype(JPN) is such a good-looking boy!! :D
The 2yo champion colt in 2012 is expected to kick off his 4yo campaign in the G2 Nakayama Kinen in March.

Logotype's 2nd dam Star Ballerina(JPN)[1990M. Risen Star(USA) x Berliani(USA) by Nureyev(USA)] was a G2 winner and very popular racehorse as her name suggested. Before Stereotype(JPN)(dam of Logotype), Star Ballerina porduced the G3 winning filly Grand Pas de Deux(JPN). And Grand Pas de Deux produced the multiple G3 winner and G1 runner-up colt Pas de Trois(JPN).

Risen Star's sireline doesn't exist in Japan. But this cleverly named family [Star Balleirina - Grand Pas de Deux - Pas de Trois] and [Star Ballerina - Stereotype - Logotype] may keep Risen Star's name and influence alive from the bottom.

That would please me a lot. Like all of Secretariat's sons, Risen Star didn't make a top stud horse. He also died of colic at the relatively young age of 13. So I'm absolutely delighted to see his name and influence through one of his daughters.

War Front seems to produce a lot of offspring considerably better looking than he is. Interesting.

I wish they hadn't retired Declaration of War so fast...IMO, that horse could have been a World Cup winner. He was so good on dirt in the BC Classic (if the first two weren't 17-hand horses with huge strides he might have won) that it's not a reach to think he would have been as good on the Tapeta at Meydan.

Mastercraftsman seems to be saying "National Hunt ladies, here I am!" :) Declaration of War is certainly more stylish than dad.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Is Mastercraftsman being used as a Hunt stallion? He was mainly a miler, so that doesn't seem to scream 'my kids will excel at three miles over hurdles' to me.

"National Hunt" is where Coolmore puts their unpopular/unfashionable stallions, regardless of staying ability or bloodlines.

Mastercraftsman has had a very good start to his stud career. As I understand it he was number one freshman sire in Europe/USA IN 2013. He has also been spending the winter season in New Zealand these past few years and appears to have a couple of nice horses there with his first few runners.

His fee for 2014 has increased to €35,000 or around $50,000

Nice article recently on him on the Bloodhorse website:

Lots of great unofficial conformation for new and old stallions. Animal Kingdom looks like he is still racing fit!

Northport, thanks for posting that link to the stallion photos on Bloodhorse.com. While I wish every one of them nothing but the best, there are some young stallions in that group I'm rooting for really hard. Just a few thoughts...

 at Violence playing with that rag. Animal Kingdom looks great. Graydar looks very tall. Whoever rubs Take Charge Indy polished that horse's coat to almost a mirror shine, and he reminds me a lot of his daddy. Paynter will always have a piece of my heart.

He shuttles to Windsor Park Stud(NZ) with fellow Coolmore Stalllions Rip Van Winkle,Pour Moi and Thewayyouare. Also He is on top of the New Zealand First Season sires table.

Most of his offspring in New Zealand are 2 year olds but at the moment his best are Jackofall,Divissima & Coachella, with Jackofall being his first Southern Hemisphere winner but also he is top nomination for the Karaka Million(NZ's richest race)

That back shot of Graydar- is that pin firing?

Take Charge Indy loves bananas, lol. They give them to him as a special treat.

Many stunning boys, but I just wish that a side view of Take Charge Indy were included in his portraits.
