The fee was updated to $3,000 from Private on the Stallion Register site since yesterday!
Ah, got it. Glad I waited until tonight to look up the farm's horses. Milky Way has quite the mix of different types of studs.
Unfortunately, the farm doesn't seem to have a website or much (if any) social media presence. I'd only heard of it because I followed Winning Cause when he was running. I did finally locate his conformation pic in the CTBA Stallion Directory. It's clearly not professional, but I guess that's not surprising.

Did Curlin have a good day yesterday or what at Pimlico? His offspring won 3 stakes races there; the Black Eyed Suzanne, the Pimlico Special and the Allaire DuPont Distaff. He also had the third place finisher in the Pimlico Special as well. He had the winner of the Peter Pan a few days back also.

He is on fire right now it seems and that makes me happy. Loved him as a race horse and sooooooo happy he is such a successful stallion.

One way is to upload them to imgur and then share the link to the album here, or to post them to your Facebook (if you have them), click on your photo, then right click the picture, select "copy image address", then post it in a reply here. Highlight the link and then select the image icon.

Dumb question.
Did someone suddenly discover that Sir Prancealot (IRE) was a dirt sire?
Did they buy his whole crop and bring it to the US?
He has runners all over the place on dirt in the states.
And they aren't doing bad.

Just discovered that Data Link is no longer on Claiborne's website and doesn't come up when you search for him on Blood Horse's stallion register.

does that mean a sale is pending somewhere? id think he's much to young to be pensioned although I know occasionally it does happen because of sub fertility and stuff...I cant even remember the last stallion Claiborne sold...eddington maybe?

Last one was Stroll a few years ago. But they don't do it as often as like WinStar, probably rarely.

I used the Wayback Machine, and I didn't go check every month, but it looks like he might have been gone from the site as early at February. They gave advertised him as being on their 2019 roster.

This indicates possible removal due to illness or selling overseas. I've noticed if a stud dies they have them as "deceased" on BH but don't immediately remove them. And I imagine Claiborne wouldn't sit on the fact he is deceased.

Pensioned per the farm (Data Link).

It seems not much interest toward Janneys' stallions. I have yet to hear if its lack of breeders or fertility issue. I know Parading was due to lack of interest.

Has lack of interest in Janney boys been a recurring theme?

He got decent books of mares his first couple years, in 2018 he got less than 8 mares though. There is no interest because he hasn't sired any stakes winners except from his very first crop and no graded stakes winners, he has gotten 3 stakes winners total. Also the stakes winners he did get, never won more than one stakes and his AEI is 0.66.
I applaud the farm for pensioning him rather than selling him to sire more foals elsewhere. Also by keeping him, if he somehow becomes hot or there is interest, they can stand him again.

It would completely depend on the ownership of the stallion. They also do not stand or bring in the number of stallions that WinStar does every year. Stroll and Horse Greeley would be the last 2 they have sold. It appears that Parading and Data Link's ownership was mainly Phipps, Janney, and Claiborne, so they can pension them if they chose to do so. If they were owned by a syndicate, they would have been sold.
During, Eddington, Horse Chestnut, Political Force, Strong Hope are some others I can think of that were there at some point in the past 10 years that were sold and I'm probably forgetting someone.

Northport wrote: Fri May 10, 2019 5:33 pm Yeah, I think he's up against it. He may be a Canadian classic winner and duel G1 winner, but the Awesome Again line just isn't precocious and the breed to sell part of the industry has no time for that. Starting in California and covering mares that those that ended up being for sale/rescue for $500 didn't help.

Hopefully he gets some runners in his early crops and can have the consistent success that Ghostzapper and Awesome Again do.
Yeah I forgot about the backyard mares listed on that one auction website. Aren't those the same ones whose foals can't be registered because they were conceived via AI?

Disheartening. Why, Adena, why?
