Cabot, who is entered in the G3 Chick Lang Stakes, is a damline descendant of stallion Gran Zar.

Gran Zar is interesting in that he is Mexico-bred who won Mexico's Triple Crown (1978), HOTY, Champion Older Horse, etc. He stood in the United States for most of his stud career and is buried at Clear Creek.

I've never seen him pop up in a pedigree before and thought it was worth mentioning here.
