The Thick of It won race #8 at Bendigo in Victoria, Australia today. His record is 12-2-0-4. He trails the field early. Didn't seem to like it there. Throwing his head up a bit. #11 saddlecloth. Silks are blue, yellow striped with white sleeves.

It's All Relevant won race #6 at Aqueduct today. He's won 4 in a row now and 7 out of his last 9 races. His record is now 22-9-2-2. Bizarre, though is that he won a small stakes last out and today he was in a claiming race and was claimed by Linda Rice from whom he was claimed two starts back. What is up with that?

Malpais won the Robert Hilton Memorial Stakes (race # 8) at Charles Town today. His record is now 6-3-1-1. He is Hard Spun's 71st stakes winner!

Rocketry is entered in the Flat Out Stakes at 1 3/8 miles at Belmont on Friday, May 3.

Hard Not to Love is entered in the Angels Flight Stakes at Santa Anita on Saturday, May 4.

Out For a Spin is expected to be entered in the Kentucky Oaks on Friday May 3. I think she is Hard Spun's first Oaks runner ever. His best dirt fillies Questing and Zo Impressive didn't run in the Oaks, though they had a good summer in 2012. Questing started her career in GB and was running on the grass. She wasn't tried on dirt until June of 2012. And Zo Impressive didn't debut until early 2012, so wasn't far enough along by Oaks time.

Spinoff is expected to be entered in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday May 4. I think he is Hard Spun's first KD runner since Wicked Strong.

Hard Spun's progeny seem to mature somewhat late for the most part.

Hidden Scroll is entered in an AOC at 7 furlongs at Churchill on Derby Day, May 4. Race #4 that day. Johnny's Bobby is also entered in this race.

A Thread of Blue is entered in race #9, the American Turf Stakes G2 at 1 1/16 miles at Churchill on Derby Day, May 4.

Fortunate Girl is entered in race # 6 the Edgewood Stakes, G3, at 1 1/16 miles on turf at Churchill on Oaks Day, May 3

Well none of our stakes runners won their races this past weekend, but several did hit the board. Hidden Scroll and Hard Not To Love ran 3rd in their races, while A Thread of Blue ran 2nd in his race. Rocketry's race was cancelled due to poor track conditions and will be run this week on Thursday at Belmont, race #8.
