And I have to say that Hansen, who was known for being a, um, high-energy colt, looks really unhappy. From the marks on his nose, I'd say he's had his chain yanked...a LOT.
I am with you on both accounts. Neither of them look happy, and the marks on Hansen's head...
People are ALWAYS looking for something wrong with horses being exported to other countries. It's pretty obnoxious to assume they are not being cared for in South Korea or Japan. Why would these farms pay tens of thousands/hundreds of thousands/millions on these horses to treat them like crap? They are valuable animals, even in foreign places such as South Korea! Those marks on Hansen's head could be from him wacking his head on the fence or in his stall. Have you been around horses? They are idiots (sometimes).
The reason they are sold is because the price was right. Stallions like Rock Hard Ten weren't getting it done in Kentucky, money was offered, it just so happens it was the KRA that got the horse. He could've just as well sold to a little farm in New Mexico or Alberta. Are North Americans just that much better? Have you SEEN the pictures of horses starving and injured at New Holland?
