It's hard to see why there would be a mass exodus when the breeding industry is finally beginning a recovery here.

TBird! Glad to see you back. By exodus, I meant the group of stallions that move from KY to a regional market (those who go cold at the sales, under-performing offspring, sold to make room for the new guys). Or the ones that go regional to regional, or even those shipped overseas. The industry is doing well now, but if a stallion is not doing well, he'll still get moved out somehow, no?

This is disappointing. He sired a Kentucky Derby and World Cup winner, but that didn't earn him enough support to avoid being exported?

He's technically #7 on the general sire list here, but if you remove Animal Kingdom's earnings, he drops to around #200. I think that is sort of the problem. He's had some good runners but only one true standout, and it looks like people don't want to gamble too much on him. Maybe his pedigree will be in more demand over there. Looks like a lovely farm. Archipenko is there, and it's where Selkirk stood.

Leroidesanimaux was at stud somewhere in Florida, wasn't he? Maybe it's just me, but I fail to see how going from Ocala to Newmarket isn't an upgrade for him. It's not like he's going to Easter Island or anything.

He'll get plenty of good mares where he's going (compared to the caliber he's been breeding to in Ocala).
