Maybe they tried to save her but couldn't? Because its only a couple days from her injury until 2013.
Yeah, that's my guess, too. :|

Hearing that the wonderful turf sprint specialist from the late 80s--early 90s, KLASSY BRIEFCASE, has died at age 28. She was a marvel of the Mid-Atlantic in her day. 1987-1991: 42-18-6-1, $382,959

And here's the story. She was at Old Friends.

A few pics of Goddess of War from her short time with us. Purchased as a Two Year Old in Training she captured our hearts in a short time. She was euthanized after x-rays confirmed an unrepairable broken knee in her second start. She is missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her:

It looked like he broke down in front, fell on his head, and hit so hard he rolled over before coming to a stop.

The jock on him was Joe Rocco Jr.

Silvercombe (GB) broke a leg and fell during the 2.40 race at Kempton Park today. This caused two other horses to collided into him and fall. One appears to have suffered a leg injury whilst the other appears to have escaped without injury. So far Silvercombe appears to have been the only fatality so fingers crossed for the other two horses who were involved!

Really sorry to hear this! I got the race result and was hoping she would be okay, but alas. She was a lovely filly.

4yo Larry of Lynn (Roman Ruler) finished 7th in PARX 10 today. Chart says he "returned sore and was vanned off." Just learned he was euthanized in his stall. 21-3-6-4, $120,947. He was also claimed.

Larry, in better times:

Shadwell announced just a bit ago that their sire and European Champion Dayjur was euthanized today due to the infirmities of old age. He was 26, stood stud from 1991-2010.

Thanks for posting that, I've not seen many of those races in 23 years. A wonderful reminder of what an outstanding horse Dayjur was. Certainly among the fastest I've seen in my time.

How hurt is my heart. I loved this boy - the Shadow Man. Saw him at Shadwell a few years ago as well as attending the 1990 BC. Rest easy, my boy. Run like the wind through the canyons of the beyond. You were loved and will always be loved by many.
