Rocketry is back! Entered in Skip Away Stakes at 1- 3/16 Miles. Purse $100,000 at Gulfstream on Friday, March 29. Kind of on the short end for him, but that was when he was on the grass, so we'll see if he can win at this shorter distance on the dirt.

Shifty's Stardust won race #6 at Mahoning Valley. His record is now 39-8-7-4. Looks like he has a tumor or something hanging under his body between his front legs????
8-year-old guy running for a $4K tag. Wish someone could just claim him and give him a good home for retirement. :(

1 3/16 miles too short for Rocketry. He was just getting rolling when the race ended. He finished 5th.

Hidden Scroll finished 6th in the Florida Derby, ending that Derby dream. I imagine they will back off and perhaps plan a summer campaign. Maybe the Woody Stephens in June? He does have talent and he is fast. Maybe shorter distances will suit him better. I will say, they should never have let Maximum Security walk on the lead like that. Nobody could close on him. It wasn't just Hidden Scroll

Out for a Spin won G1 Ashland Stakes today in her stakes debut. She earned 100 points toward the Kentucky Oaks. She ran early with 2yo champion Jaywalk. Put her away on the far turn and then turned back second choice Restless Rider before the finish. Good girl! I think she is Hard Spun's 10th G1 winner. :D She is Hard Spun's 69th stakes winner.

If the video below doesn't pop up, you can do a search on that website by the horse's name to pull up her race record and a link to the video will be there.

Runs in third for most of the race. Took him forever to change his lead once he came off the turn. First start back since last October and he wins a grade 3 stakes! Hard Not To Love won her second race, against older this time, in race # 7 at Santa Anita. Nobody at TVG thought she had a chance. She had a wider post position this time. Was wide on the turn, but charged to the front and took over. The folks at TVG admitted that she was better than they thought she was. So her record is 2-2-0-0.

Well, the preps are done and the points tallied. Spinoff sits at #19 now. So he has a spot in the Kentucky Derby.
