GI winner, multiple stakes winner & grade III placed Snow Dragon (JPN - Admire Cozzene x Meine Caprice) will stand at Lex Stud following his retirement at age 11 - via Kate Hunter.

Snow Dragon surely takes after his grandsire Cozzene. Quite remarkable that the grade I winner was stakes-placed through age 10 after winning his championship almost five years ago.
As for Redoute's Choice... what else is there to say? Sire of 34 group I winners... 10 group I-siring sons... and broodmare sire of 86 stakes winners. What a loss. I hadn't known he was having issues.

Sounds like maybe a small book of mares, but good for him.

Such sad news out of Australia. Such a lovely stallion was Redoute’s Choice.

I have to wonder what the active broodmare population is for South Korea. I think I was looking in the book a while back and noticed a trend that whatever the fresh import is will get the most mares for the year, like To Honor and Serve.
Also, TCI has yet to have any runners over there (or Korea-bred runners), so people might just be cooling off of him until they see his kids run.
But yeah, I do think it's a waste.

Perhaps somebody will bring him back, not necessarily WinStar, along the lines of Empire Maker.

My point was the high number of fillies compared to colts but anyway...
These are the top 4 stallions for number of mares covered for 2018 foals
Several things to consider in Korea:
The studbook emphasised these returns are TB only
Many big and small farms spread far and wide
A cooler climate throughout spring
Though some of the stats are just plain weird

Deep Impact, 17, standing at the Shadai Stallion Station has stopped covering mares since this March due to the pain in the neck when standing up for covering. The injury is not life-threatening and the Station referred to it as a precautionary measure for avoiding possible grave incidents. The estimated foals coming next spring would be 20 or so.

I believe American Pharoah will have his first starter in Dundalk on Friday evening. A colt out of the MGSW 'UP (IRE)', named HORUS BIRD, owned by Peter Brant and trained by Aidan O'Brien. @coolmoreamerica racingpost.com/racecards/1138…

Holy crap, that's big news! Uma do they think he will be pensioned, or will they wait and see if he can return to breeding next season?uma_nosuke wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 6:21 pm Deep Impact, 17, standing at the Shadai Stallion Station has stopped covering mares since this March due to the pain in the neck when standing up for covering. Neck pain could be anything, chances are it's something fixable with some rest for the next season.
Also nice name for the American Pharoah colt.
