Forceful won race # 8 at Ascot Racecourse in Perth, Western Australia today. His record is now 12-6-0-0. Pretty impressive turn of foot at the end.

Ballast won race #7 at Murray Bridge Racecourse in South Australia on March 7. His record is now 44-3-5-3. Led almost the whole way, lost the lead heading for home, then fought back and won. Nice job. He wears the #12 saddlecloth, breaks from gate 3.

Samara won the Capitiva Island Stakes (race #12) at Gulfstream today. Her record is now 15-5-3-0. She is Hard Spun's 68th stakes winner at the very least. I don't know how up to date the Darley website is.

Comment about Spinoff in an article on DRF regarding the upcoming Louisiana Derby.
"....Spinoff, a 11 3/4-length allowance winner at Tampa Feb. 22. The latter breezed five furlongs in 1:00.59 Saturday at Palm Beach Downs for trainer Todd Pletcher, traveling comfortably in a sharp move while just ahead of workmate Biblical, a 4-year-old that won a second-level allowance at Gulfstream on Feb. 23. Spinoff is the co-third favorite in the race at 8-1 odds with Sueno."

Spinoff ran well to finish second in the LA Derby today. He earned 40 points, which should be enough to get him in the Kentucky Derby! He was in stall #10, so had to use some speed early to get a good position. He stalked in 3rd and actually got to the lead at the beginning of the stretch. Hung on well to finish second to By My Standards. The two of them separated quite a bit from the rest of the field, Only his 4th career start and first time going a mile and an eighth. I was glad to see him rating behind horses. Bodes well for the KD.

He's definitely going. I read on DRF that Pletcher said he would train up to the Derby.
