I like seeing them as newborns and a bit later as they do change a lot in a month or so, after they "unfold" a bit.

Yeah, maybe. I can't decide yet...don't see the telltale gray eye liner nor around her nose, but the legs look grayish. ^^^

If she were grey, you'd expect to not see grey legs.
She's displaying pretty standard foal buff on her legs and underside so right now she looks standard bay.
Grey foals are typically very hyper-pigmented and display a much more adult shade coat colour at birth.

Got it, thanks and I agree she's probably bay. I'm used to seeing foals in person, up close and without the lighting/shadows that cameras make. Pictures just don't seem as definitive to me.

Country Life Farms had a little preemie over night. Chat said 46 days early. Also said lungs are clear and they are continuing to help the little "Do Dad" (nickname) stand to nurse.

This dude is 10 days old. This is his first day out. Based on my experience, he should not be with us. I have never had a red bag, septic, dummy foal get as far down as him and bounce back. My wife and my vet have informed me that I'm not allowed to sell him. #HolyBossTough

He's a beautiful foal. Congratulations on his birth and survival. And congrats to your wife and vet to insist you aren't allowed to sell him. :D

Unrelated to your foal, does any one have any news about the premature colt born at Country Life a couple of days ago? The one they nicknamed DoDad? Their live feed has been down all day with no news. Like so many others who have posted prayers and best wishes on Facebook, I am hoping the little guy pulls through.

It was a long shot from the beginning...under 300 days gestation just isn't long enough...DoDad was too premature. I posted the Tweet above from Anchor&HopeStallions about the dummy foal because sometimes these sorts of things turn out okay but, sadly, sometimes they don't. Sorry I posted about him now. His mom, In Dad's Wallet, really impressed me by how attentive she was to him. Though he couldn't stand or nurse, they continually milked her and bottle-fed the colt while she hovered over him like she was cheering him on. Below is the comment on their Facebook post.

Country Life and Merryland Farms
Sorry to report that this little guy was euthanized this afternoon . He developed multiple issues that pointed to neurologic problems. Mom is doing ok. Thanks for everyone’s positive thoughts and prayers !

Edited to add: the cams are back up now.
