I imagine they had a conversation that went something like this "OMFG the horse has RACING PLATES ON!!!!! Just do whatever to cover them up no matter how garbage it looks!"
The same happened with Destin's photo earlier the the thread as well.

Probably so, but there are much easier and prettier ways to cover that up! lol
I actually blew the photo up to take a closer look for seams, because the rear looks like it's smaller than the front, as though they stitched two similar photos together. Other photos of him don't show this disproportion. Even if it was completely unretouched -- what the heck were they thinking using it?
I wish he was stood up better, though. Ellen Pons is a good photographer, but farms are usually best off using someone who specializes in conformation shots (another example of this: Claiborne).
Yeah, the Dortmund one is close to good. I don't care about the tiny gate - it reminds us of his hulking size.mariasmon wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 9:51 pm I think getting a really good conformation pic is harder than people think. Dortmund's is a good case-in-point. I like everything about it except he is leaning forward. It was so close to being perfect. I know some people hate the tiny fence in the background effect, but that doesn't bother me.
