There are only around 7000 foals born annually in Japan, so getting 1000 mares doesn't seem that bad to me.

The Yoshida brothers' farms produce a 1/5 of the foals themselves and their stallions probably cover 30-40% of all the mares in Japan.

Arrow Stud, managed by Mr Takahiro Okada, has a close relationship with the bloodstock agent JS Co., Ltd.
They have 39 stables.
I suspect that most of their stallions are syndicated.
Takahiro Okada is a member of the Okada family which is one of the leading owners/breeders in Japan along with the giant Yoshida family.

Mr Takahiro Okada owns Okada Bokujo (Farm).
Mr Makio Okada owns Okada Stud.
And you may remember Mr Shigeyuki Okada who owns Big Red Farm.

Yeah, I understand that, but It's an average of 27 mares per stallion at Arrow. Though any farm that isn't Shadai is really up against it.

The Okada family must be lesser-known to foreign fans, as the international press and twitter accounts in English tend to only focus on the Yoshidas and their operations when it comes to the Japanese racing.
In fact, many old owners/breders have left from this game recently because of the total dominance of the Yoshidas.
But there are some other Japanese horsemen who still try to change the status quo and the Okadas are doing not too bad.
Makio Okada's Okada Stud is #6 breeder in Japan now following #1 Northern Farm, #2 Shadai Farm, #3 Shiraoi Farm, #4 Darley Japan and #5 Shimokobe Bokujo. Shigeyuki Okada's Big Red Farm is #10 breeder.
Makio Okada manages Lex Stud, who has introduced Beach Patrol(USA), too.

Hopefully Beach Patrol will do well st stud. I think it is a loss to American breeding for him to go abroad, but he probably would've been a tough sell, despite his talent.

I hope he does well too. I was a fan because I love Lemon Drop Kid, but being a turf router he absolutely would have been a tough sell here. Japanese breeders will give him the chance he deserves; the Kingmambo line has done very well over there with King Kamehameha and his sons Lord Kanaloa and Duramente.
