I've wondered that as well! Admiral Kitten is in South Africa now and I'm assuming Seek Again is in Argentina permanently, since he shuttled there.

Big Red Farm paid $10 million for him, and now they're shipping him back to California after only five seasons? I doubt that $10 million exchanged hands this time. :?
Definitely not. He has 119 winners from 210 starters, AEI 0.95. He did get his 1st Stakes winner, Another Truth, his first one on Sept. 22nd and he has others that are stakes placed. I would say the majority have been on the dirt. He got some stakes winning mares, mares with good pedigrees, but he looks to be more a dirt sire and should benefit from dirt bred mares. Most of the mares that he saw were turf bred.

I’ll Have Another Returning to America, To Stand At Ballena Vista Farm in California
“I truly consider bringing champion I'll Have Another back to the states as one of the most satisfying and one of the best things I've ever done in the Thoroughbred industry,” said Ballena Vista Farm owner Donald Cohn. “He is a magnificent specimen and a true champion racehorse; the likes of what we in California have never had the opportunity to stand.”

This news didn't come as a surprise to me, because there had been a rumor spreading since mid October on Japanese twitter accounts that Big Red Farm were selling IHA to ''a foreign country'' and I was wondering where he was going.
So, today, I'm relieved to know that he goes to the right place.

The vast majority of Japanese fans on twitter regret his early departure from Japan.
He was loved by everyone and we really hoped for the dual classic winner's big success here.
I thought his stud record was not so bad considering the modest quality in the mares he could find as a non-Shadai stallion.
BRF did thier best, but the fact that he failed to sire any stakes winner in his first three crops didn't help at all.
It's sad but we can only hope for his big succss in his home country now!!

A bit Ironically, we saw his 2yo colt Meiner Surpass(JPN)[o/o Meine Aktis(JPN) by Tamamo Cross(JPN)] win beautifully the Kimmokusei Tokubetsu (Allowance)1800m turf at Fukushima 10R Nov 4th 2018 smashing the 2yo track record.
He defeated the race favorite & blue-blooded Danon Chaser(JPN)[Deep Impact(JPN) x Samitar(GB)]. :D

-- replay of the Kimmokusei Tokubetsu
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtErqlw7-ko
1st. (#1) Meiner Surpass(JPN) C2 (I'll Have Another x Meine Aktis) 1:46.2 (record)
2nd. (#3) Danon Chase(JPN) C2 (Deep Impact x Samitar)

It will be great if the 2yo colt ends up IHA's first stakes winner as well as first classic winner next year!! ;)
And, if it happens, that will be good news for IHA and Ballena Vista Farm.

In this article about Japanese breeder Dr. Masatake Iida, he mentions that he has several well-bred Japanese mares by Deep Impact boarded in the USA he plans to breed to California Chrome.

If you were wondering 'whatever happened to Bolt d'Oro,' he's been retired. Will stand at Spendthrift for $25,000.

It feels like we never got to see this horse reach his potential...or maybe we saw all he had as a two-year-old? I have to wonder just how unsound this horse is...he hasn't run since June and they couldn't get him right for just one race by now?

I'll give you my honest opinion. Ruis ruined the horse. He is learning how to train as he goes. He didn't come up through the training ranks, he wasn't an assistant trainer to anyone. He is just a guy with money that decided that he could do this.

Sadly, I lean that way too. I think training is more of a skill and an art than Ruis was prepared for. Bolt is a talented and well-bred horse. I hope he passes that on. I'd like to see him succeed at stud.

"Right now, the Lows are just in the mindset of doing what's right for the horse," West said. "We're just getting through the forest first. We don't even know if (breeding him in 2019) is even feasible right now. My gut tells me no."

Bleh. I think, even though he had plenty of quirks, Expert Eye could win some more big races next year. No Expert Eye, no Saxon Warrior, no Poet's Word, no Roaring Lion, no Cracksman, no Alpha Centauri....

if Masar comes back in one piece, he could clean up in the older horse division. Without Parole could make some noise as well.

We can always hope for Enable in 2019. They haven't made a decision yet.
