Well, I guess Cross Traffic is set to bury the "Unbridled's Song sons don't make good sires" notion.

IMHO, its way too early to make that call. I think people were expecting a lot from First Defence after he sired Close Hatches in his first crop. He ended up in Saudi Arabia just a few years later.

Premature. First goal would be to cover more than the 60 mares he covered this year. I'd lean to maybe in 2019 at 25,000.

As far as UBS sons go, Midshipman is a really solid sire. He isn't fashionable and hasn't sired any superstars, but he is a good value for those who are breeding to race. He's been getting over a hundred mares per year for the last four breeding seasons. And Darley hasn't moved him along, so I feel like that speaks for itself.

Big Red Farm paid $10 million for him, and now they're shipping him back to California after only five seasons? I doubt that $10 million exchanged hands this time.

Scat Daddy's son Daddy Long Legs to stand at Taylor Made

Multiple Group 2 winner Daddy Long Legs has been purchased by a partnership to stand at Taylor Made Stallions in 2019, becoming the most recent son of the late Scat Daddy to stand in Kentucky.

Daddy Long Legs won the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes in England as a juvenile and the Group 2 U.A.E. Derby at Meydan the following spring. He launched his stud career at Haras Cordillera in Chile, the country where Coolmore's shuttle stallion Scat Daddy was a leading sire, with two Horse of the Year honorees. Daddy Long Legs also proved popular, siring Group 1 winner Fallen From Heaven, Group 3 winner Atomicka, Group 3 placed Aine, and stakes-placed Pinturita Clasica and Vamos Chileno from his first crop.

The young stallion has been purchased by the partnership of Taylor Made, Phoenix Thoroughbreds, and KatieRich Farms.

Yes exactly.

I know that IHA hasn't gotten Gr.I winners or general graded stakes winners, but like again, he isn't a Shadai stallion; what mares were sent to him and what was their quality? 250-300 mares go to Lord Kanaloa and Maurice and Deep Impact a piece and so on.

Also it was his first crop I believe that yielded the stakes competitors, or most of them. So take what you will from that.

You know that farms are scrambling to get on the Scat Daddy train when they buy Coolmore cast-offs who started in Florida, stood there for one year, then were sold to Chile.

Still, nice to see him off to a good start at stud, I totally forgot about him. Different tax bracket than Justify or even Mendelssohn (though he and DLL both won the UAE Derby), I'll be really interested to see how many mares he gets.

Speaking of which, what ever happened to Stroud's Lane Farm? They launched in 2016 with 3 first year stallions: Daddy Long Legs, Seek Again, and Admiral Kitten. Then after 2016, poof, gone. Their website is somewhat functioning, but way out of date.
