Call The Wind won the Prix du Cadran (G1) at Longchamp today. He’s by Frankel out of In Clover, who has produced G1 winners We Are and With You and two listed SWs. I’m pleasantly surprised to see Frankel get a G1 winner over 2 1/2 miles.

It's a bit wild how people always doubted if Frankel could get beyond a mile while he was racing, but his progeny have turned out to be somewhat plodders. Not as many seem to have the same turn of foot as him, but they have a great cruising speed that lets them outlast the competition.

About Frankel
If they thought he would throw sprinters, they would breed plodders to him. Sometimes it just be's that way, as my daughter's best friend's kid puts it.

Chasing Yesterday just won the Anoakia Stakes at Santa Anita. The half sister to American Pharoah was very determined running down the leader and getting that win. She may not be big, but she has heart. :D
