I don't think the post positions have been drawn, but the list includes some of Europe's best middle distance horses.
Three-year-old star filly Sea of Class has been supplemented to the race, where she will face likely favorite Enable. Also on the 'possibles' list are Waldgeist, Cracksman, Kew Gardens, Study of Man, Talismanic, Capri and Cloth of Stars.
Aiden O'Brien could have five entries, although John Gosden's Enable and Cracksman are an enviable team.

Hmm. Wonder if they plan on bringing Talismanic back for a defense of his BC Turf.

Or Study of Man for that one; I know Niarchos usually support the BC events.

The field has been drawn and Enable got a favorable spot in post 6. Sea of Class was not so lucky, drawing 15 in the 19-horse field.

Post positions were privately announced for the Everest, after public outcry when it was proposed that the post positions for each horse would be projected onto the Sydney Opera House. Betting for the race was suspended and everything due to security risks.

Kind of a weird hill to die on... I get that it is an iconic building, but... like... they have projected other sports related images onto the Opera House before. It's not like they're projecting "Enjoy the 2018 Everest while drinking an ice cold Coca-Cola™".

If I saw such promotion of an event on say, the CN Tower or SkyDome, or some other Torontonian thing, I'd think it would be pretty cool.

From what I understand it was more about the way the CEO of the Opera House said No and then was bullied and overruled by the Sydney racing authorities and the local Parliament representatives. Then it was made out to be "advertising gambling" on the iconic structure....

TVG is promoting the race, which it will be showing Friday night/very early Sat. morning here. It's about 10:15 PM Pacific, 1:15 AM Eastern.
I see that Home of the Brave has been withdrawn, but I haven't read why.

Interesting this story says he was injured when he was very young and they thought he wouldn't make the track. Their advisors told them not to even try to sell him at auction, like the Lloyd-Webers do with all their male foals.

Too Darn Hot is the heavy favorite in the Dewhurst (G1) tomorrow at Newmarket. The Lloyd-Webers did sell his full brother at Tattersalls this week...for a sale-topping 3.5M guineas.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, TVG didn't show the racing from Caulfield last night, concentrating only on Royal Randwick. As a result, I didn't see any of those races, which sound a bit too 'exciting' for the stewards' tastes.

There is usually a rise in suspensions at this time of year as jockeys take a few more risks than normal (except Hugh Bowman who is riding quietly)
