A 2017 filly that caught my eye in a sales catalog has been named.

Unbridled Huntress, Empire Maker x Hunter’s Mark by Titus Livius. Hunter’s Mark is a half-sister to King Kamehameha and The Deputy, and her sire Titus Livius is a MGSW. She looks a lot like Empire Maker.

She was bought by Ruis Racing for $125K, who in turn gave her a rather lame name. She’s entered to make her first start at Del Mar on Monday in Race 8.

May she run like the wind regardless.

Gizele was submitted for the MDO - Zenyatta filly but it was rejected for being to similar to Giselle. Maybe she will be named sometime..

As long as they avoid the horrible facebook recommendations like Zen D'Oro or Medagliayatta I'll be happy .

They've been pretty original with their names thus far... I didn't like Cozmic One or Ziconic, but at least they're... unique.

I’ve noticed there’ll be this big “name the foal” internet contest and then the winner will be like “Dream’s Moon” or some other Thoroughbred book series-esque name.

I like those both better than Beholder's colt's name....
