Well, he's 21 now, so I'm kind of surprised that he was still shuttling.

Wonder if this will be his last year of breeding period. I think the average age of pensioning is 24 (from memory).BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 10:50 pm It has been announced that this is the last season More Than Ready will shuttle to Australia

He is one of the rare stallions that is so successful on both sides of the equator, warranting his continued shuttling, but not so successful on one side or the other that he becomes too valuable to make the trip (Galileo, Dubawi, Medaglia D'oro)BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 10:50 pm It has been announced that this is the last season More Than Ready will shuttle to Australia

I hope his last trip is safe and uneventful!

Its always a horse by horse basis. If they have no physical issues and still have good fertility, most farms will keep breeding the stallions until one of those things comes up.Mylute wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 8:52 amWonder if this will be his last year of breeding period. Here’s a Ramsey Farm foal, born in May, that I don’t think was posted. He’s a very flashy colt!
