Claiborne is not one of them.
I agree with Lane's End and Coolmore. I always liked Airdrie's too.

Claiborne has some of the worse. They always look short and stocky.

Claiborne’s are also way too shiny or glossy. Lane’s End and Coolmore’s have just the right amount, like fresh from a bath with natural sun instead of just being bathed in shine. Airdire’s are a bit on the shiny side but are still lovely. I’m looking forward to McCraken’s. I think Taylor Made’s are nice.

It’s kind of hard to comment on other farm’s because they almost all either give them transparent backgrounds or use that weird uphill slanted, fresh off the track, crooked look.

Did Cape Blanco sire an Ascot winner in his first crop? (This is not rhetorical, I'm curious because I'm coming up blank on him as a sire)
No but neither did Shanghai Bobby. Shang Shang Shang is from Bobby's 2nd crop. Maybe they are hoping to buy him time, with the hope that either Shang Shang Shang does something else or he comes up with another horse that can win Graded/Group stakes.

Lane's End has a piece on their website about how The Factor's absence has brought his numbers up. He's a top 3 third crop sire. Maybe that's what they're going for?

I didn't know that Cape Blanco was relocated to JBBA under a lease agreement for 1-2 year.
Which source (link)?

Thanks.

Question:

Considering Coolmore’s penchant for selling sires overseas or elsewhere (usually prematurely), why have they kept Fusaichi Pegasus all these years? He’s had some good babies but he’s gone relatively quiet the past few years, ther than International Star.

EDIT: I’m looking at their American site right now and the roster and I got a mini heart attack because of how different it looks. Good grief.

I don't know if it had something to do with Fusao Sekiguchi keeping around 25% ownership in him? I guess its possible that it was put into his original sale contract that maybe they aren't allowed to sell him without Fusao Sekiguchi's permission? I honestly never understood how he was there this long either.

Cape Blanco, winner of the 2011 Eclipse Award for Champion Turf Male, will stand in Hokkaido next season, according to a report in the Racing Post. The Japan Bloodhorse Breeders' Association has entered into a lease agreement with Coolmore to stand Cape Blanco for one or two years.
Thanks Flanders. :D
So ''a report in the Racing Post'' was the original source.
I still can't be 100% sure if he came to JBBA on a lease.
Was the lease extended after the '1-2 year' for some reasons?
Or, was he sold to JBBA finally?
We don't know.

Anyway, Cape Blanco was popular in his first season in Japan.
But his covering numbers have been declining from the second season.

2015: 132 mares
2016: 47 mares
2017: 26 mares

I would have to anticipate another drop in 2018.
And his first Japanese crop has not produced any JRA winner, yet.
I'm waiting for JBBA's numbers of mares report for 2018 now.

Cape Blanco also shuttled to New Zealand between 2012-2014
Ask me any questions you have about New Zealand and Australia racing

both the following articles mention him being leased as well.

also in the Bloodhorse article, while it doesn't mention it, Kate Hunter does in the comments section, saying he was only being leased.

Okay I always respect Kate Hunter who has been the best spokesperson for the Japanese racing. ;)
She is a massive follower of the Japanese racing as well.
And I know that she was in the local business circle working for Paca Paca Farm as a communication manager in November 2014.
So it's possible that she had a contact with JBBA which didn't refer to any lease agreement for the introduction of Cape Blanco in its official statement (in Japanese) .
In the case of The Factor, JBBA stated clearly that he was introduced on a lease.
Anyways I strongly hope that Kate Hunter, ex-TBC poster, will be back to this board some day!!!
I also hope that Cape Blanco will sire some JRA winners from his first Japanese crop before too long.
