I don't think that's a dark chestnut. Sire is bay, dam is dark bay or brown, he's missing the typical lighter legs of a liver chestnut, and the dam has only produced bay or brown offspring (and a grey), so chances are she's homozygous for Agouti and probably Extension. His forelock is black. I think his tail is probably sunfaded more than anything.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 16, 2018 11:28 pm I think I'm in love with Sharkbite. What a hunk. <3
His very dark chestnut coloring appeals to me...wonder if his mane is red like his tail.

Matrice Park (I think) got him. Several of the foals by him I've seen have been dark bay or even black, so I'm pretty sure the red in his tail is just sun bleaching.RugbyGirl wrote: ↑Mon Sep 17, 2018 12:25 am Sharkbite is a full brother to Scissor Kick who has a pic on here a bit earlier so comparing the two is interesting both are closely related to the Hasili family. Sharkbite was sold in a online auction a few months ago and I'm not certain what farm has picked him up

It’s not. Here’s a lower quality picture of him showing the mane.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 16, 2018 11:28 pm I think I'm in love with Sharkbite. What a hunk. <3

Hopefully with Scissor Kick’s apparent popularity (and good looks) Sharkbite will get more attention. I see he has a 2016 listed stakes winner in Jaws of Steel.

Sharkbite is handsome, but I'll take Verdi over him.

Thanks for the 2nd photo of sharkbite, MyLute. In that one, he looks almost black. And still a hunk.

That's quite an old photo.
He is a handsome devil though.

I know. I've had it saved on my PC for a while because of how pretty he is, and because of his name. I found another condo pic but I think it's even older. I thought I'd post it anyway since it hadn't been posted before and is "new".Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Mon Sep 17, 2018 5:10 pmThat's quite an old photo.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I see a strong Street Cry family resemblance to Zenyatta in that photo of Rageese. The coloring, shape of the head, thin blaze, high withers, deep chest and one white foot...sort of a male version of the Big Mare?
How tall is he?

Listed as 16.1hh. I didn't follow Zenyatta too closely so I will let others judge this but I have dug up more pics here and will post in headshots and progeny in Foal PicsBaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 21, 2018 12:17 am Maybe I'm crazy, but I see a strong Street Cry family resemblance to Zenyatta in that photo of Rageese.
