Seems he was handpicked by Sheikh Mo himself who was smitten with him and they were battling none other than Coolmore... on a side note he was actually a pinhook and sold for 400k as a wrangling... not a bad return

Looking at the Summary column, I'm seeing quite a few RNAs. The Tapit x Justwhistledixie ($775,000) was one.
The AP x Joyful Victory ($200,000) was not. Sold to Godolphin.

195, PotN x Mining My Own, has a ton of pedigree. Looks leggy and elegant. Goes for a respectable $775,000.

Lustre is really off the Bernardinis. Hip 196 just struggled to bring $22,000 - filly out of an Unbridled's Song mare.

I'm shocked by that. Figured he'd be right up there with the sales toppers.
How can he have been that bad??

201, MdO x Miss Empire filly, goes for $475,000. People still like those MdO gals.
202, Liam's Map colt out of a stakes-winning mare, goes for $225,000. So far, bidders haven't been in love with the LM youngsters.
One would expect to see fireworks for #203, the filly by Tapit x Miss Macy Sue. But some of those top pedigrees haven't turned out that way. Racy-looking. Hammers for $1,400,000.

Here's a blurry picture of the Leslie's Lady colt on Twitter. He RNA'd of course.

Unsurprisingly, the MdO x Leslie's Lady is an RNA.
Just saw the photo of the Leslie's Lady...and the bid now makes sense. OMG, that is an unfortunate-looking colt.

210, an AP x Mohini (Galileo) filly, could be interesting. Will an outfit like Coolmore look to try an AP on the turf? $675,000. Not too shabby.

211, Curlin x Molly Morgan colt, goes to $1,800,000. I think that's the best Curlin and the 2nd highest bid of the day.
212, the Honor Code colt out of SW mare and dam of multiple SWs Moonlight Sonata goes for just $100,000. This business....

Going back through the 'logue and noticed that a colt by Kitten's Joy out of Imagstic, who is a full to two stakes competitors and has Reviewer on the dam side, went to Godolphin Japan for $210K.

A Karakontie x I Bet Toni Knows (half to a GSW) colt went to Cromwell Bloodstock for $100K.

A Fed Biz x Intensify (half to Intense Holiday and Money Multiplier) filly went for $250K to Matt Ryan.

218, a colt by MdO x Moulin de Mougin, goes for a nice $1,300,000. MdM's dam, Cambiocorsa, is also the dam of Bronson, who we lost this past weekend after a race at Kentucky Downs. :(

241, MdO x Nebraska colt, has Honest Lady as the 2nd dam. Only $20,000.
Interested to see how 243, the Honor Code x Nereid colt does. She was a very nice racemare.
Big handsome boy, looks like his dad. A bit of a handful for the handler. Goes for $375,000.

Unfortunate?
Eh it’s not a flattering photo but it’s not reflective of the colt at all. He’s nicely put together if on the light side but I imagine much like the other LLs he’s a late foal.

And here a video... he’s definitely a small dainty thing. And he doesn’t look as compactly put together as his famous half siblings. Definitely still looks very babyish. But I imagine it must have been the vetting.

Book 1 Starts Rough, Sellers Say Stronger Days Ahead

https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... days-ahead
Clarkland Farm's Hip 120, a colt by Medaglia d'Oro out of stakes winner and multiple grade 1 producer Leslie's Lady, dam of champion Beholder, grade 1 winner Mendelssohn, and grade 1 winner and sire Into Mischief , who was bought back on a final bid of $60,000.
Fred Mitchell, owner of Clarkland Farm, was clearly disappointed.

"He's still an immature colt," Mitchell said. "But I've watched him grow up, and I know how much he has changed in the last 30 days, so I was not ready to give him away. With the pedigree he's got, he is too valuable. It was shocking that we didn't have more action."
He added that he has had some buyers come back to the barn to look at the Medaglia d'Oro colt and a deal could still be made.
