And a "Hot Brown" is Louisville's signature sandwich, with (IIRC) turkey, bacon, mornaise sauce. . . (or maybe béarnaise sauce, anyway about 1000 calories a bite.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

“Some Like it Hot” is a 1959 film starring Marylin Monroe.
I also posted this one in the horrible thread. I get why it;'s clever (and SLIH is one of my fav films) but "hot brown" just sounds ultimately grim. Now that I now there's a sandwich with that name it makes more sense... but I will never order food with a name that makes me think of diarrhea. :P

Lady Montdore, by Medaglia d’Oro out of the Gr.I-winning MGSW Hytericalady, won the Gr.II Glens Falls Handicap at Saratoga.

She appears to be named after a fictional character in the 1949 novel Love in a Cold Climate, who if I remember correctly, was a hysterical lady.

Saratoga Race 6 Sunday

Take Me to Hardoon

Anybody know if this is in reference to Ragozin Sheets handicapper and longtime radio personality Jonathan Hardoon?
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Take Me To Hardoon is more likely a reference to Silas Aaron Hardoon. I found a bunch of references to him via Google Search.

The life of Silas Hardoon has amazed Shanghai for a hundred years. Opium dealer, rent collector, speculator, alchemist, miser and philanthropist, Hardoon was once the richest man in Asia.
He was the only foreigner to have appeared as a character in Chinese opera.

I nearly lost my lunch over this one.

Majestic Warrior is the sire.

Waveland is his dam.

She is a daughter of Woodman.

The colt is named
Majestic Woody.

You may now wipe up all the coffee that splashed on your shirt.

And, we have Dogburt already. I've seen a few Eggburts. Now there is a Catburt, too.

How does Waveland fit into the equation?

Her name doesn't figure into it at all, but you need her in the equation to get the "Woody" part from her sire's name. Waveland's pedigree is Woodman-Wave On, by Caveat.

Not sure if 10yog Who Shot Thebarman has been mentioned here he won the 2018 Sydney Cup but he could also arguably go in the horrible names thread (Noooo!). He runs against Winx on Saturday as he builds towards the 2018 MelbCup
