A Lot Becomes Second Tapit Son Standing in Australia

~ I guess we can say he's actually the first to stand year-round (since Frosted, the other Tapit, is a shuttler).

He hasn't ever left the US. I don't know who Mylute is thinking of. Maybe Colonel John? I can't think of any other WinStar stallions that went to South Korea in the past few years besides him and Take Charge Indy.mariasmon wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 9:37 amWhen did Revolutionary go to Korea? A while back someone made a comment about who would be shipped out to Korea next, and someone else suggested Revolutionary because he wasn't getting big bucks at the sale. I didn't word my comment correctly but what I meant was maybe because of Maiden Beauty's win and the TCI kerfuffle they would think twice if they were thinking about selling him.Flanders wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 4:14 pmHe hasn't ever left the US. I still remember vividly his tremendous stretch duel with Second of June in the 2004 Fountain of Youth.

Kind of wanted to post a blurb on one of my favorites, Fear the Kitten. I liked him because he has one of the better “Something-Kitten, Kitten’s Something” names out there.
A solid horse, he retired in 2017 after 6 years of racing with a record of 46: 4-8-5 and earnings of $232,505. He was multiple graded stakes placed, with good runs in the 2013 Lecomte and Southwest Stakes. He’s of course by Kitten’s Joy, out of Dynarythm (Dynaformer). He has In Reality on the dam side.
He retired to Swifty Farms in Indiana, who have really been working to “glow up” their roster. He’s listed on their website, but you can’t click his PDF file for some reason. On their Facebook page, they mentioned they were selling him with a starting bid of $8,700, which must’ve fallen through because they later mentioned “last call” breedings to him in July.
Hopefully one of my favorite boys has a good life and a few good runners.

Maybe he needs to cut back on his bodybuilding workouts.

This isn't "news" or anything but I have a question and this seems to be the most appropriate place to answer.
What is Xanthus Farms? And why is American Pharoah's half brother there?
I've been lurking here for a while and have read several threads and have seen them be called "gimmicky" because of their white boys. I've also read where they don't actually breed sporthorses despite saying they do.
Xixixi got 24 mares in 2016 and 20 in 2017. He's by Maimonides, so he's not by a fancy sire, and he never won a stakes (his record is 17: 2-3-1 so he could run) but you would think someone in ye olde Florida would be interested in bringing him there. Xanthus can't take decent confirmation photos but even so he looks pretty good in his picture. Looks like St. Patrick's Day.

Xixixi was bred by Zayat, who IIRC also own/owned Maimonides. Maimonides is by Vindication, whose early death left few good sons to carry on his own Seattle Slew line, so I've always hoped M would do well as a sire.
Xixixi may not have been a very good racehorse, but I've seen stallions with less-worthy pedigrees stand at stud.

Results of a little googling...
Barbara Rickline: Xanthus Farm’s driving force

From the farm's webpage:
And from a BloodHorse article about Red Vine going to stand there:

From the farm's webpage:
They have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/xanthusfarm/While we strongly support the Pennsylvania Bred Program, we do understand the best stallion for the mare is not always in Pennsylvania, so we breed a large number of mares in other states like Maryland, New York, Kentucky, and Ohio.
Xanthus Farm also participates in the show horse breeding. We continually have Sport Horse broodmares, weanlings, yearlings, and older horses for sale
And from a BloodHorse article about Red Vine going to stand there:
https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... nnsylvaniaXanthus Farms' principle Barbara Rickline said Pennsylvania is more attractive now with the breeders' awards program upgraded to 40% for progeny by Pennsylvania sires.

Xanthus had been around for awhile. They are a regional stallion farm. Why they stand white stallions, I have no idea though. Judge Smells was relocated to Xanthus in the mid-90s and became the leading Pennsylvania stallion before he died in 2000. But they were definitely, at least for a time, standing the top stallion in Pennsylvania. When Pennsylvania allowed casinos in the state, there was an influx of other stud farms, like Northview, Pin Oak, Ghost Ridge, etc., that quickly overtook the other regional farms that had been in the state before. Lil's Lad, Changeintheweather and Digamist stood there for a time as well.Mylute wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 2:56 pm This isn't "news" or anything but I have a question and this seems to be the most appropriate place to answer.
