Thanks for pointing that out, Flanders; I hadn't made the connection.

As for Victoria -- wow, that is exciting. Wouldn't it be something if War Emblem left a strong legacy through his best daughter? What is Black Emblem's produce record to date?

I didn’t realize who Catalina Cruiser was until now. That was a good win for his 3rd start, didn’t beat much, but should be interesting to see if he can step it up against tougher. Amazing to see how big Catalina Cruiser is compared to Eagle.

Black Emblem has been an excellent producer, Starine.
She has already produced 5 JRA winners (from 6 foals of racing age) including a G3 winner and a listed winner / G3 placed.

Black Emblem's breeding record:

2011: h. Testament(JPN) (Deep Impact) 26-3-2-2
2012: h. Bright Emblem(JPN) (Neo Universe) G3 winner & G2 placed 13-2-1-0
2013: g. Astra Emblem(JPN) (Daiwa Major) Listed winner & G3 placed 17-5-5-1
2014: m. Aurola Emblem(JPN) (Deep Impact) 8-M-1-2
2015: f. Maroon Emblem(JPN) (Orfevre) 3-1-1-0
2016: f. Victoria(JPN) (Victoire Pisa) 1-1-0-0
2017: f. unnamed(JPN) (Deep Impact)
2018: slipped foal (Black Tide)

Victoria(JPN) was ridden today by Yasunari Iwata who had guided her dam Black Emblem to the G1 Shuka Sho victory 10 years ago.
Like her dam, the 2yo filly is trained by Shigeyuki Kojima.

That's a really well-bred bunch of colts.

Thanks for posting Black Emblem's produce record, Tachyon.

You are welcome!
I only hope that Black Emblem retained her good health after slipping her foal this year.

Royal Delta's half-brother Delta Prince starts in the Fourstardave (gr. IT) on Saturday at the Spa. He'll face a salty bunch including Heart to Heart, Yoshida and Divisidero.

There were several good two-year-olds winning at Del Mar while we were away, including the fillies Bellafina (Quality Road), Mother Mother (Pioneerof the Nile) and Summering (War Front). Baffert's touted Quality Road colt, Roadster, also lived up to his buzz.

Anonymity (Tapit x Stormy Sunday), a full sister to champion Hansen, is entering stakes company. The lovely chestnut is backed by a 4: 3-1-0 record and is facing Sky Diamonds, who is returning to form. Should be interesting.

I hope she does well. I also hope that both Trevor and some of the TVG crew (cough.Schrup) handle the pronunciation of her name a bit better this time.

Cairo Prince got his 4th winner today in the form of a well-bred son named Cairo Cat (out of La Belle Cat by Tale of the Cat) in a 1 mile 1/16th MSW on the turf. He did so as an 18-1 long shot, without Lasix and in the process beating better favoured Mott, Brown and Pletcher trainees, including one son of Declaration of War and one son of More Than Ready.
I think this may be CP's first win as a sire on Turf if I'm not mistaken.

Delta Prince (Street Cry x Delta Princess) ran second in the G1 Fourstardave! He placed over the likes of Heart to Heart, Dividisero, Made You Look and Yoshida.
