Nice article about Preach and Yarn. Preach is still alive and kicking (and probably biting) at 29, sharing a pasture with fellow pensioners Starry Dreamer (dam of War Front), Hidden Reserve (dam of Reload and Defer), Matlacha Pass (dam of Point of Entry and Pine Island), and Cunning (dam of Quota).

VERY impressive bunch of mares! Wish they could be seen, out in the pasture as one of the tours. I am kicking myself for not going to Claiborne's mare tour a few years ago for Breeders Cup.

Nice to see that video, as well as the one of Ashado and her Into Mischief colt over in the 2018 Foals thread.
Kudos to Godolphin for deciding to be the anti-Coolmore, at least as far as being a more open operation when it comes to the broodmares.
When I think how long it took to learn about Vertigineux's passing, and how it seems that it is very hard to get information about the Coolmore broodmares....

Rest in Peace, Scarlet Bouquet(JPN) 1988.
http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000213918/

She is remembered as one of the all-time great broodmares who lived in Japan, along with the multiple G1 winners producers likes of Mejiro Aurola(JPN) 1978 http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000110449/, Pacificus(USA) 1981 http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000383225/, Dancing Key(USA) 1983 http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000383247/, Air Groove(JPN) 1993 http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000275176/, Biwa Heidi(JPN) 1993 http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000275176/, Oriental Art(JPN) 1997 http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000316406/, Halwa Sweet(JPN) 2001 http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000727544/, Cesario(JPN) 2002 http://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000743110/, and so on.

Scarlet Bouquet(JPN) was a very popular runner herself at the track, too.
And, yes, she had a Northern Taste's white.

as she won the G3 Queen Cup under young Yutaka Take in 1991 (one may find her owner Katsumi Yoshida on the right, too)

Her dam Scarlet Ink(USA) was one of the Shadai's key foundation broodmares, whom Zenya Yoshida introduced to Japan in 1973.

Rest in Peace, Scarlet Bouquet.
Even if tinged in sadness it warms the heart to see a race horse lead a successful career on the track, successful career in the shed and live out their golden days with a nice, long life.
May her descendants get much of the same.

It goes without saying Scarlet Bouquet was my favorite mare, haha.. ;)
Hope Daiwa Scarlet can find her best partner before too long...

After visiting KY last weekend, I will need to post some photos of the ladies I was able to see/meet. Including Pussycat Doll, Balletto (my favorite), Oatsee, Questing, and a few others.

I thought they were going to keep her since she was on their broodmare section. But she is also owned in partnership and maybe the other partners decided they didn't want in on the breeding side of things. Its very possible that Stonestreet will try to buy out the other partners.

A Scat Daddy sprinting filly? Looking into my crystal ball, I see one M.V. Magnier signing for her and a 2019 booking to Galileo in the future.

Though, I wouldn't be surprised if Stonestreet buys its partners out of her either.

I imagine she will RNA. As far as I understand public auction is the only fair way to determine market value, which would be a likely necessary clause to a buy-out by Stonestreet. After which Stonestreet could buy her out via a private treaty. Could also lead to a new partnership, I wouldn't put it past Coolmore to buy-in privately.
Although it is possible Stonestreet manages to buy her out as they will have an advantage over other bidders - since they only would pay out 50% of the final bid price.
If she goes past her reserve then yeah, chances are she will be bought up by foreigners and end up in Australia (owned by foreign interests) or Europe (She's an A++ nick with Galileo on TrueNicks...)

Breaking News from Bloodhorse - Lady Eli to be offered at Keeneland November. I think they forgot they already announced this in January when she retired.
